Most of those 'towns' you talk about are not even towns. They're extensions of Nairobi. The only 'town' within Nairobi metro that grew on its on and is classified as a town on its own is Thika. The others are not. Take Ruiru for instance. Ruiru has a population of 700k. If it was classified as a town on its on, it would be a city - in fact the third largest city in Kenya behind Nairobi and Mombasa and the 7th largest in east africa behind Dar, Nairobi, Kampala, Mombasa, Kigali and Mwanza. However, Ruiru is never counted on its own and it doesn't eve make any sense to - It has no defined CBD, the section of Ruiru that resembles a CBD is merely a shopping center. The rest of Ruiru is a sea of residential houses and industries. If you drive from Nairobi to Ruiru, you don't even feel like you've moved from one city to another. It's literally the same city. BTW, the Githurai that I see you people mentioning over and over as a slum in Nairobi is in Ruiru.Metro when u combine towns from other counties? Can we also do the same by combining Dar+Kibaha+Bagamoyo? Wacha ujinga!
