Turkish Airlines has unveiled plans to significantly expand its flight services to Tanzania, commencing in June 2025.

This strategic move aims to bolster connectivity between Turkey and Tanzania, facilitating increased travel and tourism between the two nations.


Enhanced Flight Schedule:

Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO): Flights will increase from the current four weekly services to 14 weekly flights, offering passengers the convenience of twice-daily departures.

Zanzibar (ZNZ): The airline will augment its services from nine to 14 weekly flights, ensuring two daily flights to this popular island destination.

Dar es Salaam (DAR): Services to Tanzania’s largest city will rise from seven to 10 weekly flights, providing more flexibility for travelers.

This expansion underscores Turkish Airlines’ commitment to enhancing accessibility to Tanzania’s renowned attractions, including the Serengeti National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the pristine beaches of Zanzibar. By increasing flight frequency, the airline aims to cater to the growing demand from international tourists seeking to explore Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) has welcomed this development, highlighting its potential to boost the nation’s tourism sector. The increased flight connectivity is expected to attract more visitors, thereby promoting local businesses and supporting sustainable tourism initiatives. The TTB continues to work closely with international partners to showcase Tanzania’s unique offerings to the global market.

In line with these efforts, the 8th Edition of the Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE) is scheduled to take place from October 11th to 13th, 2024, in Dar es Salaam. This event aims to promote Tanzania’s tourism to international markets and facilitate connections between local and global tourism stakeholders.
