What’s the difference between a city and a metropolitan area?​

A city is any urban settlement that is larger than a town and is able to function on its own, with a government and other public services. On the other hand, a metropolitan area includes a core city as well as nearby communities, making it a larger settlement of people than just a city. Metropolitan areas can contain many cities within their sprawl, and sometimes cities are integrated into a metropolitan area because the spread and growth of the area encompasses the city over time.

The NMA is made up of Kajiado, Kiambu, Machakos, Murang’a and Nairobi City counties. NaMATA's principal objective is to oversee the establishment of a safe, integrated, efficient, effective, and sustainable public transport system within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area.

Other civil works KDF department wanaweza ku supervise sababu serikali haina hela ya kuweka consultant nje ya circle ya serikali.
