What concerns me is the rate at which these buildings come tumbling down. The rate is unmatched in the region.Exactly how many high-rise buildings do you think are in Nairobi? There are Thousands! How many thousand buildings have been constructed by foreign companies? For instance, Laxmanbhai Construction (a KENYAN company established by a KENYAN in KENYA) built Britam Tower, Nairobi's tallest building. The company also built Telposta Tower, Lonrho House, and Villa Rosa Kempinski (among other projects in Nairobi). The architects were Kenyans, working for Howard Humphreys Limited.
The GTC towers and complex were designed by KENYAN firm Triad Architects. There are so many others, but I have given you just two of the biggest. What you are asking me to account for is the thousands of 3 to 4-story buildings built by individual investors using small contractors. Since there have been 3 or 4 collapses (out of THOUSANDS built) Kenyans do not have the expertise? You're joking. I am pretty sure that if you take the time to research, the companies I mentioned above have projects they have undertaken in Dar.
You are missing the point. You claimed that Kenya does not have construction technology and expertise. My answer is that we have very advanced capabilities and have undertaken massive construction projects successfully, including in TZ. The collapses you see are a very tiny fraction of a percent of all highrise construction in Nairobi. The issue is corruption, greed , and lack of oversight for some of the small projects. I know that you understand, and I prefer not to engage in unnecessary banter. What concerns me is the rate at which these buildings come tumbling down. The rate is unmatched in the region.

That is according to you, but other people think differently. The problem is your engineers not corruption. You are missing the point. Architects Blame Corruption and Lack of Regulation for Building Collapse
Dozens of Kiambu County's people have died in building collapses in Kenya, including at least 3 people in 2019 and 49 in a 2016 disasterwww.voanews.com
I'd like to know who these other people are, besides you. Go back through the thread and read about the projects I posted that our engineers have undertaken. The tallest buildings in Nairobi (I gave examples and details of Britam and GTC, scroll back to last night) are Kenyan-built as I have already explained to your countryman. Your tallest buildings, on the other hand, are Chinese built (as I also pointed out last night). Why is that? Where were your engineers/architects?That is according to you, but other people think differently. The problem is your engineers not corruption.
The fact that even your army and police can't stop banditry activities, it is not corruption, it is weakness of KDF and police force.
The fact that you can't address the problem of draught and water scarcity in Kenya for almost 60 years after independence, that is not corruption, it is a state failure.
The fact that KDF has failed to deal with M23 in DRC, that is not corruption, that is part of inability of Kenya as a country.
Kenya fails almost in every sector except Marathon and tribalism
🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿👏👏👏
While our engineers built our supper highway, Thika super highway is a Chinese made.Take note that while Kenya architects and engineers built our tallest skyscraper, Mzizima Towers were constructed by Group Six International Limited, a Chinese Contractor. I could look into others, but I think I've made my point about construction expertise.
