Pia hilo eneo ni Kiashiria cha income inequality. There’s a clear line separating the leafy, planned Oysterbay and Masaki from Msasani and Namanga (the slums). Also, I always wonder why the most posh parts of the city are primarily expat neighborhoods. There isn’t any other “affluent” part of the city that could be placed in the same category as Oyster Bay and Masaki. Sad!

Income inequality ni tatizo ambalo lipo hata Nairobi so we can't put it squarely on Dar alone, we won't be fair in doing so. There's is a members only golf course near Kibera with the only thing separating the two being a wall fence!

That aside, I concur with you that Dar has only two organized neighbourhoods and that is Masaki and Oysterbay. This is a sharp contrast to Nairobi coz we have very many posh neighbourhoods. Karen, Kyuna, Muthaiga, Gigigiri, Runda, Kitisuru, Lower Kabete and Spring Valley are just some of Nairobi's leafy neighborhoods.

In Dar, once you step out of the two leafy neighbourhods, it is chaos everywhere. Nairobi might have slums but they are not everywhere. There are very many affluent neighbourhoods and even most parts of middle-income and upper middle-income areas are very much organized. Go to South C, Donholm, Umoja, South B, Buru Buru, Komarock, Fedha, Ruai, Utawala and many other areas in Eastlands utapata kumepangika vizuri sana and there's order, something that you'll never find in most parts of Dar. All these are middle-income areas.

Tatizo ni kuwa tunafikiri miundombinu ni maji, barabara na umeme peke yake. Makazi bora pia ni miundombinu. Makazi yaliyopangwa, Yaani makazi yaliyojengwa kutokana na mipango mji ya miji, yataondoa hali duni zinazoonekana Kwa sasa

Tofauti ya Masaki na any other typical neighborhood in Dar ni kuwa hilo eneo limepangwa sambamba na miundombinu ya barabara za lami, maji safi, sewerage na umeme. Pia kuna juhudi za kuhakikisha miti inatunzwa. Hell, hadi kuna floor limit ya majengo kutunza mandhari ya hiyo peninsula.

Mitaa ya kawaida haina barabara za lami, haina sewerage system, Pia unakuta hata maji hakuna. Why? Serikali haina mpango wa kuhakikisha kila eneo linalokaliwa na watu Lina hizi basic services. Pia Silaumu watu wanaojenga kiholela, ninailaumu serikali Maana kama ingekuwa na mpango madhubuti, hiki kitu kisongetokea.

Pia local authorities hazijishughulishi kutengeneza policies kuzuia ujenzi holela. Kila mtu anajenga atakavyo. Hakuna harmony, hakuna sehemu zilizotengwa Kwa ajili yo community centers kama parks and recreation. Everything is just a mess.

Nimekuelewa local authority zimefeli sana kupanga miji..na rural urban migration ni kubwa sana kuliko uwezo wa kupangilia mji..kiukweli hilo ni tatizo litalochukua fedha nying kurekebisha ..kwan itahitaji kujenga makazi mapya ya muda au ya permanent na kisha kuhamisha watu...

Hyo ni budget itayofanywa i think after kukamilisha big projects..inavyoneshwa ni kama haijawa considerd sana na wizara ya ardhi

Its true dar has informal settlements lakini sio maeneo mawili tu yako planned..
