those hills are called 'The Nandi Hills' and it overlooks the highland Nandi County on the other opposite side. Those hills are the western most edge or the end of the great rift valley to the west. what will follow is the flat lowland Lake Basin, encompassing the entire nyanza region including kisumu county.! hope i've answered your question
