Assembly of the Volkswagen SUVs is being done at Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers (KVM) Thika Plant. On Monday, 9th March 2020, Indian car maker, Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled its first batch of locally-assembled Scorpio double and single cab pick-up models, which will be assembled at Simba Corporation’s Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA) plant in Mombasa.

Isuzu East Africa has opened new assembly lines at its Nairobi plant to increase manufacturing capacity. The Sh1 billion investment was commissioned by Isuzu EA Managing Director, Rita Kavashe, who indicated that the move was a demonstration of Isuzu EA’s manufacturing capacity to locally assemble a wide range of upcoming commercial vehicles.
This is after Isuzu East Africa announced plans to start assembling its D-Max pick-up trucks in Kenya and end the tradition of importing ready-made light commercial vehicles from South Africa.
