Mexican forward Javier Hernandez has been granted a work permit, paving the way for him to complete his move to Manchester United on July 1.
There were fears that the £7 million deal to sign the 21-year-old would fail to meet the Home Office's strict work permit guidelines, but the club's presentation to the FA panel responsible for overseeing such matters has been successful. The forward, nicknamed Chicharito, will thus join up with his new team-mates after the World Cup.
Hernandez was a second-half substitute in Monday's friendly between Mexico and England at Wembley, and scored after starting in a second friendly against Holland on Wednesday.
