Kobbie Mainoo tells Man United he wants to LEAVE on loan before end of the transfer window as club's stance on his future is revealed

Kobbie Mainoo has informed Manchester United he wants to go out on loan before Monday's transfer deadline, but the unsettled England midfielder has been told to stay and fight for a place at Old Trafford.

Daily Mail Sport revealed on Tuesday that Mainoo was open to leaving his boyhood club and United would take 48 hours to make a decision over his future.

After making his first appearance of the season in the disastrous Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town, Mainoo told the club that he would like a loan move to secure more regular football but did not want a permanent transfer away from the club he joined at the age of six.

We reported earlier this week that 10 top teams in the Premier League and around Europe were interested in signing Mainoo, with both Madrid clubs and Napoli among them.

However, United have made it clear to the 20-year-old and his representatives that they want him to stay at Old Trafford.

Mainoo has made just 16 starts in 45 games since Ruben Amorim took over in November, and United's head coach warned him last weekend that he is in direct competition with captain Bruno Fernandes for a place in midfield.

Ex-Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brutally SACKED by Besiktas after shock European exit as club announce decision in 39-word statement

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked by Besiktas after the Turkish club were dumped out of Europe in the Conference League play-offs.

Solskjaer, 52, lasted seven months in Turkey having been appointed to the role in January, his first position since losing his job as Man United manager in November 2021.

Besiktas confirmed in a short statement on Thursday that the United legend had been relieved of his duties. The decision came just hours after they were beaten by Ineos-owned Lausanne-Sport in their Conference League play-off.

The Turkish outfit were knocked out of the European competition altogether after losing 2-1 on aggregate following a 1-0 home defeat.

The club announced the decision in a brief 39-word statement after a board meeting following the match.

'Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been terminated following a decision made at the board meeting,' Besiktas said.

Newcastle AGREE £69million deal for Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade in huge hint Alexander Isak could yet join Liverpool

NEWCASTLE have agreed a £69million deal for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, SunSport understands.

Eddie Howe's side are in the final stages of negotiations with the German giants after a frantic dash to strike a deal.

SunSport understands Woltemade, 23, has already agreed personal terms with Newcastle, and a deal could be just hours away from completion.

The Toon will pay a club record £69million package, worth £65million and a further £4million in add-ons.

Woltemade, who has two Germany caps, will travel to the North East TONIGHT to complete a medical, as per the Daily Mail.

Acording to Sky Germany, the player has already said his goodbyes.

Arsenal forward Havertz to have knee surgery
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will have surgery on a knee injury, but is not expected to be out for a significant amount of time.

The 26-year-old featured in the opening win over Manchester United from the substitutes' bench, but missed the 5-0 victory over Leeds with the problem.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said before the Leeds match that "we need more time" before determining what course of action Havertz's injury required.

The hope is that the Germany international will be out for weeks rather than months.

That will give Arteta some relief as he is already without winger Bukayo Saka, midfielders Martin Odegaard and Christian Norgaard, defender Ben White and forward Gabriel Jesus through injury.

Sweden international Viktor Gyokeres is the club's only fit striker and scored his first two Premier League goals against Leeds.

Havertz's injury accelerated Arsenal's move for England attacker Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace and the £60m signing has started training with the Gunners.

Arsenal face champions Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield with both sides having won their opening two league matches of the season.
