Liverpool’s prospects for the season hang on a knife edge in terms of availability of essential forward options.
One of FSG’s and the managements recruitment strategies, has been to acquire players who accumulate a high percentage of fixture availability during their playing careers and that level of durability will be needed over the remaining games.
Klopp’s decision to offload Sturridge and succumb to Coutinho’s desire to move to Catalonia, has left him with reserve options at the top end of the pitch, that fall levels short of the current incumbents of the roles.
The squad has no natural player profile to replace the wide forwards and Firmino’s loss would be catastrophic, relating to the fluidity of the sides attacking combinations.
The German will hope the past history of each players attendance, will ensure he is never left with such season altering issues.

It is a good time to be a Liverpool supporter.
The last eight of the Champions League awaits and we are starting to look like one of the favourites for a top 4 finish in the league. Jurgen Klopp is assembling our best squad since the Rafa Benitez era and we also possess one of the world’s best strikeforces in Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Whilst Klopp is doing a good job so far he still has to win some trophies to be classed alongside Rafa as a Liverpool legend. Despite progress being made, it is still silverware that fans crave more than anything else and ultimately this is what Jurgen will be judged upon.
