my verdict for last night game.
Lucas gives liverpool a much needed balance and it is beyond me why he is ignored by bogerman..liverpool looks good going foward with lucas in midfield...he breaks the play and play simple but effective foward passes that realy open up the space for us.....even last season,we started playing well when he was reintroduced to the team...when he is on his form,he is white makelele.he gives licence to our attacking players to express themselves...brenton should perish his hendo-milner pivot experiment.
--gomez has been mighty impressive, and this might be a stretch but this kid can be to us what azpilcueta is for chelsea...no-nonsense defending, great composure on the ball and hell he can bomb foward... Flannagan can bide his time in treatment table
--clyne has been rock solid at the back, the longer he plays like this, the better..he is standout defender in our much drilled-defence so far..
--ibe needs 10 loans move to mature....he was dreadful when he came on last night and he has been for all games this season....i would like to see marcovic getting a nod
--liverpool were excellent in first half last night, partly due to great balance they had, courtsey of lucas. Firminho coutinho and benteke realy threatned but liverpool may struggle to open stubborn defence as firminho and coutinho narrows our play..they drift inside quite often to form little triangles with benteke and to invite the overlapping runs from fullbacks to stretch the pitch,...this works well in counter attacks but i cant see this work against stubborn defence..we lack a genuine wide player.coutinho isnt that player....sturridge might be thrusted into the wide positions upon his return and he can be that player who will give us a cutting edge
and oh coutinho is in the class of his own..the way he was toying and dazzling arsenal fullback was joy to behold...lets enjoy him whilst he is here
firminho looks off the pace, but the half fit firminho with a broken leg is better than lallana..he has end product in abundance...
--credit to bogerman for three consecutive clean sheet and most importantly a virtuoso set up against direct rival. There is siege mentality in this liverpool team and all credits go to the irish wanker.remains to be seen if we can keep this resilliance. At the moment, all is well for liverpool. Coudnt have better start to the season
