Despite his personal frustration, Morata was clearly delighted for Rudiger as he and Marcos Alonso helped him celebrate

'It's right to apologise for what happened during the game,' Conte said. 'During the game, in the first half, I saw that Swansea were wasting time. I said this a few times to the fourth official.

'At the same time I didn't see something change. I was frustrated for this situation. I tried to tell again, but then the referee took this decision.

'I apologise for this. I was frustrated. For sure I made a mistake. During the game I suffer. With my players I suffer. It's a pity.'

  • 20+ shots, 15+ corners, at least three good penalty shouts, more than a dozen shots on a target and probably just as many half- or near-chances. It was domination everywhere but the one place where it counts, on the scoreboard.
  • 3-4-3 to start, 3-5-2 for the final 10 minutes with Hazard coming on for Willian and Drinkwater replacing Pedro. Midfield trio of Fabregas-Kante-Drinkwater is something we might see more if Bakayoko continues to struggle.
  • Welcome back, Victor Moses. Time to shake off that rust.
  • Conte getting sent to the stands is hilarious, as long as the FA don’t compound the referee’s silliness with further suspension. Angelo Alessio capably deputized on the touchline, as he’s done before for Conte at Juventus.
  • Azpilicueta’s consecutive start streak ends; Chelsea still win. Phew!
  • Next up: Newcastle United on Saturday — see you there!

A-head of the rest - the stats
  • Chelsea have scored eight headed goals in the Premier League this season - more than any other side.
  • Swansea failed to score in any of their four Premier League games in November.
  • Only three clubs have scored fewer goals after 14 games of a Premier League season than Swansea (seven) this season: Derby (five in 2007-08), Bradford (five in 2000-01) and Man City (six in 1995-96).
  • Cesar Azpilicueta did not start a Premier League game for Chelsea for the first time since December 2015, having played 90 minutes in their past 74 top-flight matches.
  • Swansea failed to get a single shot on target in this match - the fourth time they haven't had one in a Premier League game this season.
  • Overall in 2017-18, the Swans have attempted a league-low 24 shots on target in the Premier League.
