Once again, the Blues take hold of the game, seemingly at will, hitting the post twice through Alex and Essien, with Anelka having an effort ruled out for offside, and bringing on the lively Daniel Sturridge​

Chelsea aren't the free-scoring force seen at the start of the season but are worth their win, needed since the recent losses to Newcastle United and Manchester City​

Carlo Ancelotti's father Giuseppe passed away in Italy last night aged 87 with his son at his side.

Everyone at Chelsea Football Club sends our deepest condolences to Carlo and his family. They are all in our thoughts at this time.

The funeral will take place in Italy on Saturday. Carlo will return to London for Sunday's match versus Arsenal.
