K+P Koch+Partner together with H.P. Gauff Ingenieure -JBG-, Tanzania, were commissioned to design standard passenger terminals for four Tanzanian airports. In the beginning of February the final design was presented with the TAA, Tanzania Airports Authority in Dar es Salaam.

Developed according to the different flying sequences, three types of airport terminals have been planned.

Type A (the larger one) a two-story building is located in Kigoma. Type B (Tabora and Shinyanga) and type C (Sumbawanga) are mainly one-story buildings. All terminal building types have similar outer appearance and design. To contribute to the individual character of each location, the interior of each building was chosen to have a different expressive colour. According to the architects’ concept, the main colours are red, yellow and green.
