I read somewhere that hata pale CBD yao most buildings are not connected to a central sewer line system. I was surprised that some of their leading five-star hotels are not connected to a sewer system as well and discharge raw sewage into the ocean during the rainy season! Has always been a huge marketing ploy to raise money by NGOs. They made the slum a cash cow, one of the main reasons it is hard to eradicate it because of these entrenched cartels.
