There are certain parameters used in awarding a town city status. These include among other things population density, availability of important social services like roads, communication services, economic importance of that town etc etc. On all those fronts, even Eldoret scores high against Tanga but it (Eldoret) is not even a city though it is the fifth biggest town in Kenya. Tanzania kila town ni city, hata takataka zinaitwa city!!! mnashangaza kweli

Kisii town has grown really fast. If you visit that town goday, you'll be amazed at the number of tall buildings cropping up in all corners of that town. The eststes surrounding this town hazina tofauti na zile za Nairobi; There are apartment buildings everywhere. The only bad thing with kisii town is that it is overcrowded and lacks enough land for expansion. Lack of enough land is one of the reasons why apartment blocks are found everywhere around kisii town
