Yet you die of hunger in thousands, you live in slums in millions, you have big percentage of people below poverty line than any other country in EA except South Sudan and Burundi, how can you connect these with bigger number of middle class?
This debate was finished earlier. You have set your poverty line so low its pathetic. You guys have embraced poverty and it's worrying. The world has moved from using a dollar as the poverty line. Over 30 million people in TZ live in extreme poverty.

these fuckers set there poverty line at a dollar.....the 1995 standard while Kenya used the appreciated dollar value of 2005 model at 1.25 dollars at market price.....While ours stand at 43% when at 1.25......pliz find out Tanzania's at the same 1.25 dollars........
watajua hawajui

Actually kenyas poverty line is higher than two dollars according to this http://hdr.undp.org/en/composite/MI check the last two columns for people living under two dollars the international standard is 33%. The 46% is when our poverty line is considered.

Hivi kwanini unapenda kujiliwaza katika data lakini hutaki kutafsiri hizo data katika uhalisia?, kwa mfano tukisema, Kenya population below poverty line is 0%, lakini;
1) 4Millions Kenyans have no food(Hunger)
2)48% Unemployment rate
3)3millions Kenyans in slams without water and sanitation
4)Police killings, Kenya is leading Africa
5)Corruption, Kenya is number 3 in the World

Are you OK with all these, so long as it has been mentioned that Kenya is in Lower middle income countries?
