But things are changing in places like Mwea ( do research) .. though the local demand is higher than the supply for now , the trend is slowly reversing. At the same time , if farmers can reap more profit to export it to Japan, so be it. We can turn rice into a cash crop and figure out other cheaper ways to satisfy domestic demand. After all , farmers come first .
