Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

It was a response to your idiocy. Hukumuona akisema eti tulijenga State House wakati mnaishi msituni. Stockholm's syndrome is high in you guys................alafu kila siku mnasema sisi tunashobokea wazungu. I call it projection.
Hee! Kwanza umeelewa ulichoandika kwanza? Nadhani jibu lako liko more relatable huko Kwenu Kenya kuliko Tz "Kunyang'anya ardhi"

Kundurenda hawana ushawishi Africa Rao Hashindi
Tatizo yupo na washindani dhaifu. Hakuna mshindani toka ECOWAS na North. Yupo na mshindani toka Djibouti, Mauritius na Madagascar.

SADC inakuwa na wawili. Huku Tanzania ikifanya ushawishi, SADC achaguliwe. Upande mwingine Obasanjo atafanya ushawishi ECOWAS.

Automatic Raila atashida. Maadamu Obasanjo na Tanzania zinamsapoti.

Tuwe positive katika hili

The Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System Explained.

Summary:
When all six phases are complete, Dar es Salaam will boast one of Africa's most advanced and efficient public transportation systems, expected to serve the city's 10 million residents in 2030.

The Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is a public-funded project to revolutionise urban transportation in Tanzania's largest city. As the lifeline of the bustling metropolis, this expansive and meticulously planned network aims to ease congestion, reduce travel times, and provide a reliable and affordable mode of transportation for millions of residents. The project is divided into six phases, each playing a critical role in the system's overall success. Here's a detailed look at each phase:

Phase I: The Foundation of Urban Mobility
Route:
Kimara to Kivukoni/Morocco/Gerezani
Length: 21 km
Investment: $290 million
Completion: May 2016

Phase I of the BRT system laid the foundation for a transformative public transportation network. Running from Kimara to Kivukoni, Morocco, and Gerezani, this 21 km route includes 29 strategically located stations, 57.9 km feeder roads, five large terminals, and dedicated trunk lanes. Designed to carry 300,000 commuters daily, Phase Strabag International GmbH built me. Construction began in April 2012 and was completed in December 2015, with entire operations starting in May 2016. This phase has become the backbone of Dar es Salaam's public transit, dramatically improving the daily commute for thousands.

Phase II: Expanding the Network
Route: Kilwa Road to Kawawa South via Kivukoni (Mbagala to CBD)
Length: 19 km
Investment: $160 million
Completion: February 2025 (Projected)

Phase II, a critical extension of the BRT system, is set to enhance connectivity from Kilwa to Kawawa South via Kivukoni. With a budget of $160 million, the African Development Bank is funding the majority, covering $141 million, with the remaining amount provided by the Tanzanian government. This phase, including two flyovers and a total length of 20.3 km, is nearing completion, with 98.9% of the work finished as of May 2024. When operational in February 2025, this phase will further ease traffic congestion and improve the city's transportation infrastructure.

Phase III: A Vital Link to the City Center
Route:
Gongo La Mboto to City Centre
Length: 23 km
Investment: $200 million
Completion: March 2025 (Projected)

Funded by the International Development Association (IDA), Phase III focuses on enhancing access to the City Center from Gongo La Mboto, including a stretch of Uhuru Road from Tazara to Kariakoo-Gerezani. As of May 2024, the construction is halfway complete. Upon completion, this 23 km route will provide an efficient and reliable link to the heart of Dar es Salaam, greatly benefiting daily commuters and boosting the city's economic activity.

Phase IV: Expanding Horizons
Route:
Maktaba to Simu 2000 and Mwenge to Dawasa
Length: 30.4 km
Investment: $250 million
Completion: May 2025 (Projected but Unrealistic)

Phase IV, covering 30.4 km, is divided into three lots: Maktaba to Simu 2000, Mwenge to Dawasa, and the expansion of the Kivukoni terminal. This phase includes the construction of two depots at Simu 2000 and Mbuyuni. With construction beginning in November 2023, this phase is expected to be completed by May 2025. It will significantly increase the BRT system's capacity, providing more options for commuters and reducing pressure on existing routes.

Phase V: Strengthening the Core
Route:
Ubungo Kijazi to Nyerere Overpass
Length: 25.7 km
Investment: $200 million
Completion: 2026 (projected but unrealistic)

Phase V extends the BRT network by 25.7 km, starting at the Ubungo Kijazi intersection and running along Nelson Mandela Road to the Nyerere Overpass. This phase will provide critical connectivity to some of the busiest parts of the city, ensuring that even more residents can benefit from the efficient and reliable BRT service.

Phase VI: The Final Frontier
Route:
Kawe to Morocco, Vikindu, and Kibaha
Length: 33.5 km
Investment: $300 million
Completion: 2027 (projected but unrealistic)

The final phase of the BRT system, Phase VI, is the most ambitious, covering a length of 33.5 km. This phase will extend the network from Kawe along Old Bagamoyo Road and expand Phases I and II to Morocco, Vikindu, and Kibaha. The planned routes include Mwai Kibaki Road (7.8 km), an extension of the BRT1 from Kimara to Kibaha (20.7 km), and an extension of the BRT2 from Mbagala Rangi Tatu to Vikindu (5.0 km). While the concept design is complete, the government seeks funding to commence construction.

A Vision for the Future
The Dar es Salaam BRT system is not just a transportation project; it's a symbol of progress and a brighter future for Tanzania. By the time all six phases are complete, Dar es Salaam will boast one of Africa's most advanced and efficient public transportation systems. This ambitious project reflects the city's commitment to improving the lives of its citizens, fostering economic growth, and setting a benchmark for urban mobility across the continent.
