Dude..chill. It's all good...
Sikiza Transport wise.. Dar is more strategic than any other city in the eastern africa region
As a Mega city it will have first to become an economic region... Span its economic influence into Bagamoyo, Kibaha, Kisarawe and Mkuranga ;all these districts are within 65km radius from Dar. And currently they are part of dar as an economic region.
With rehabilitation of TAZARA and construction of Central Rail we are applying a new and famous technique of shrinking the country physical/geographical/Spatial distance make it smaller by significantly reducing travel time.
This will push more population to depend on Dar hence more(opportunities) investment flowing in selected few centers like dar and mbeya and Mwanza..Arusha.. I think you know this concept.. (Mombasa&Nairobi SGR+Highway) without that Nairobi wouldnt be able to enjoy Mombasa's Location Advantage and port ofcoz.
After completion.. Dodoma will be Human Resources and Development center of The Entire East Africa with Biggest University and Many World Class Institutions.. Will be a political Town/ government Town and Diplomatic city..
Dar will be left to be the manufacturing and transportation Hub.. Port of dar even after expansion won't be enough to handle import and exports.. That's why we need Bagamoyo Port too.. As a country when moving into exporting finished goods and technological goods we need more ports... port of Mtwara and Tanga will come handy in 15years time.
The Great Nation Of Tanzania is just getting started.. Nothing in this country is being done by chance.. Nakwambia Dar will be a mega city waay before Nairobi and that will affect Nairobi Growth badly.. And Tanzania will be another success story of Africa just like Mauritius. Let's wait.
I am so sorry to dissapoint you mate. But by now, Nairobi has all those that you are planning and more...
1. It has secured it's position in the aviation industry which is one of the most strategic unit of foreign business.
JKIA is the centre of aviation right now in East plus central Africa and one of the best in africa, top that with a national carrier of its own...
This year alone saw a dozen multinationals come in including Boeing.... Now tye concept is, we are already seeing too many companies setting up shop in Nairobi in the East, Lagos to the west and Jo'burg down south. you won't tell me they'll change their minds after a short while and transfer their locations to Dar.
2. This year kenya was ranked 3rd in the ease of doing business in Africa, with this, you should be worried because it only indicates that Kenya ain't sleeping as much as we are already in a good position, we still going.
3. Nairobi is at a central strategic place and to make it better, we got Mombasa. Even better, the Rail connecting Nairobi abd mombasa is done. Talk of Bagamoyo, Lamu port phase 1, 3 berths is opening year And an expressway is underway.... (see what I mean by we are not asleep?) so you guys are just just playing catch-up.
Now tell me what chance do you have taking the throne away from the King... I tell you what? You can only if you do it like Dubai then il give you 2 decades.... (dubai took 20 years to rise from dust) but even then, do you have money like Dubai does? The UAE exports well over 3 million barrels of oil per day.
