Why is Kenya involved in matters concerning the western hemisphere? That is not your problem, the US doesn't want to send its troops to Haiti because of the backlash it would get, so they find one of its vassal state (kenya) to do its bidding. Your people are going to be used as cannon fodder, considering not knowing the language, culture and terrain, would be disadvantageous in every possible way.

You think we don’t know that… before Kenya agreed to do the dirty work of cleaning up Haiti ( and you are right it was a US initiative)… we had a long sit down and negotiations with the US about the mission… when I saw the kind of foreign influence and logistical support we are getting, I was ok with it with the buck value ..I only hope that kind of technology will be transferred back to our forces including KDF….this will also give Kenya a leverage in future negotiations with the US on matters of security especially modernization of the Kenya Air Force fleet…And I think it’s part of the deal….Anyways let me not jinx the mission… Tutaongea badaye…

His opinion, his experience…. I can quote others who see things different… at the end of the day, every nation is about its interest… Kenya included…when I was in Political science 101 class in college, my professor told me the US interest comprises 3 elements… National security, national integrity and national prosperity…. Now think of that every time you relate the US to any foreign policy… we Kenyans are very aware of that…

I will trust Henry Kissinger's words about the US foreign policy any day than some political science professor. Remember, those who can't do, teach. Most of today's US policies were shaped by him in the seventies, when he was the secretary of state. What your professor failed to tell you is that, the neocons don't care about America or it's people, they only care about serving their own and the group that is controlling them.
