It is blind nationalism, but honestly with the current growth of infrastructure in Mombasa, apart from Nairobi no other city can beat Mombasa in infrastructure.

The fact that they do not understand a metropolitan area means their largest city does not have one. I also noticed this, on my travels there. Just 12km from the Dar CBD you find villages and small markets. Nothing like satellite towns like Nairobi. And now Kilifi is fast becoming the metropolitan area for Mombasa especially once phase 2 of Dongo Kundu bypass is completed and phase 2 of the Mombasa commuter rail begins.

Hawa wenzetu tuendelee tu nao kwa huo mwendo. They keep mentioning Dar's geographical area na kusema how big it is in comparison to Nairobi. But when you take a closer look, most of it ni villages. There's a time I stumbled on pictures of a Cassava plantation in Dar. Yes, shamba la mihogo ndani ya Dar es Salaam!
