Dar es Salaam is 1,590sq. km in 2022.
Dar es Salaam was 1590 sq.km in 1962 when Tanzania got independence.

Does this mean Dar es Salaam has never grown since 1962? Does this mean Dar in 2022 is the same size as Dar in 1962?
