Hivi ni Kwanini Dar iliacha kujenga majengo ya aina hii? We rarely see such beautiful structures these days because our architects are focusing on ugly, contemporary box structures.

The Dar es Salaam Darkhana Jamakthana was built in the 1930s, and it boasts Neoclassical Greek and Roman design as well as Islamic architecture. I prefer traditional building designs because they create a strong sense of local identity with an emphasis on beauty and aesthetics.

Notice the contrast between the traditional structure and the rest of the UGLY contemporary buildings.

Naona Dodoma wanajenga capital ambayo itakuwa boring sana. Sio tofauti na Dar wala Mwanza wala Arusha! And BLEAK architecture
kwenye majengo ya serikali ni aibu. Yaani ni state house (Ikulu) pekee ndio wamefanya vizuri ku-preserve national identity. Lakini majengo mengine ni ya kawaida sana — basically boxes made of concrete and glass!
