Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

And they dare compare their large village to Nairobi😱😱...such disrespect from these niggas..
Africa’s most expensive cities in 2017: Nairobi, Johannesburg and Lagos are in the Top 10
(Ecofin Agency) - Nairobi is the most expensive city in Africa. This is revealed in the 2017 report on life cost from The Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU), subsidiary of renowned British newspapers.

Worldwide, Kenya comes 75th in this index which compares each year prices for 160 goods and services across the globe.

Coming second in Africa with Abidjan is Cairo. They are both 99th worldwide. These are followed by Casablanca (107th worldwide), Dakar (108th), Johannesburg (116th), Lusaka (122nd), Pretoria (123rd), Algiers (127th) and Lagos (132nd).

For the fourth consecutive year, Singapore is the most expensive city in the world, ahead of Hong Kong, Zurich, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Geneva, Paris, New York and Copenhagen.

Asia thus has five of the six most expensive cities worldwide. London moved from the sixth to the 24th position due to the pound’s depreciation subsequent to the Brexit referendum.

EIU’s index is most useful for human resource managers in order to determine salaries to be paid to personnel abroad.

Africa’s 10 most expensive cities:

1-Nairobi (75th worldwide)

2-Cairo (99th)

3-Abidjan (99th)

4-Casablanca (107th)

5-Dakar (108th)

6-Johannesburg (116th)

7-Lusaka (122nd)

8- Pretoria (123rd)

9- Algiers (127th)

10- Lagos (132nd)
Do you understand the meaning of expensive??

Do you understand the meaning of expensive??
ofcourse i know what expensive means.😱😱.see this nigga??😀😀.. well, in this case, it means the basic cost of goods, rent, transport etc are high..this is a bad thing right?...however, top cities tend to be expensive because they are very attractive to both foreign investors and tourists alike and that is what makes Nairobi,Lagos, Casablanca, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cairo expensive...dont expect the most attractive cities to both tourists and investors to be cheap...just go to London, Paris or New York and ask for a 300 ml Fanta drink....lol! it goes for as much as ($7) Ksh 700.... these cities usually have the best real estate too...they are leading cities....

yap...i know what expensive means....in this case, it means the basic cost of goods, rent, transport etc are high....however, top cities tend to be expensive because all investors are running towards them and that what makes Nairobi Johannesburg Cairo expensive...dont expect the most attractive cities to be cheap...just go to London or New York and ask for a 300 ml Fanta drink....lol! it gos as much as Ksh700.... these cities usually have the best real estate too...they are leading cities....
Does Expenses makes city any better?
how many of good cities are left an attended and are better than urs, dnt poison us with this issue plz

I understand your reasoning however, in this case don't expect a leading city to be cheap...never...as a matter of fact, not just in Africa but leading cities in China, Europe and North America...they are very expensive...for cheaper cities like Dar, the consumer is happy with the price of commodities and transport but that is what makes Dar a low-class city compared to Nairobi or Johannesburg for instance.....just look at which cities made the top ten and you will understand where I am coming from...I'm out

huh!! what makes a city expensive?? one example is the strength of the country's currency (for example, since the pound is stronger than the shilling, a Tanzanian will find London expensive)also important to note is that this list has been made for expatriates...not locals...top performing currencies like SA Rand and Egypt pound makes Johannesburg and Cairo expensive...but this is not the only reason..there are many other reasons why those cities are expensive...

I told you that bn expensive is not the indication of resting dar and Nai battle...the battle is stil on...

by all means the battle can go on...but si mnajua tu ni nani ataumia.😀😀😀.especially once those skyscrapers at upperhill are complete.😀😀😀good luck tryint to compete when the pinnacle is towering over the Nairobian skyline...kwa mtazamo wangu, after the pinnacle, montave and avic ar through, even Cape town will be on its knees leave alone Dar...

Tunafanyia kazi ,tunajenga SGR, Ring roads, tumeanza demolition kwa ajili ya highway Dar to Chalinze 100 km, tunajenga flyovers, estates sasa kwann tuumie?

Nipe sababu y maumivu sasa...

ni vizuri umeuliza....haya zifuatazo ni sababu za maumivu zaidi kwenu...
1.Tallest glass skyscrapers in Africa are being built; all in one place, Upperhill...by 2020, there will be seven Nairobian buildings in the top ten tallest..so it will be a battle of Nairobi and Jobrug only.
2. A light rail project from JKIA is on the table
3. JKIA will be ferrying most passengers from East Africa to the USA...meaning the aiort will be receiving more than 10 million passengers annually (in 2016 the number was 7 million against Dare salaam's 2.5 million)
4. We have started a program that is aimed at cleaning Nairobi streets...a plastic ban is also in place
5. Roads like Outer Rung road and numerous bypasses are nearing completion (others like Uhuru double decker highway are on the table)
kwa mtazamo wangu, after the pinnacle, montave and avic are through, even Cape town will be on its knees leave alone Dar..therefore, this battle will be meaningless and irrelevant

Pinnacle ni mwiba wa kila mtu iyo mkiiweza haina ubishi

Airport hata yetu mwakani itabadili sura

Yaliobaki hapo hayana mashiko kwa kweli

Plastic bag na usafi sio kitu cha kuzungumzia izo ni mambo ndogo sana!!
Light rail ni project ambayo ndio naiskia kwako labda sina updates. ....

kiukweli, usafi hio ni jambo la kawaida...ila Pinnacle Montave Avic and light rail will render this battle irrelevant...how will you compete with these skyscrapers? ndio nakwambia, Cape Town itakua pabaya by 2020 sembuse Dar...
