The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has paid a courtesy visit to the fuel storage terminal and Lake Victoria fuel transport system which is on the shores of Lake Victoria in Bugiri Bukasa Katabi town council Wakiso District.

It is the first of the kind to transport fuel on Lake Victoria.
The Kabaka of Buganda accepts the first ship to be named Mv Kabaka Muteesa and the core business shall be transportation and storage of petroleum product.
There is 14 storage tanks with capacity of 70 million liters .According to Mahathi infrastructure Uganda Limited administration, the project will spend 300 million Us dollars and is expected to commence its operations in December this year.
Upon his arrival at the site, the Katikkiro of Buganda was given a humble welcome by the chairperson of the ongoing construction project Captain Michael Mukula together with other officials from Buganda and central Government
The Katikkiro was led by Captain Mike Mukula along other stakeholders of the project and toured different facilities including fuel tanks, buildings under construction and the two ships which are under manufacturing processes
During his visit he delivered a massage from the Kabaka of Buganda where this Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi accepted to name one of the four Vessels as MV Kabaka Mutebi II something that has been welcomed by the people on the function.
According to Katikkiro, this project has been designed in the way that it will not even affect the environment since no waste will be disposed in the lake
He has continued to urge people conceived relevant ideas, plan efficiently, to implement plans professionally, monitor and evaluate the plans which are the only way economic development can take place.

In conclusion he has appealed to the government agencies to avoid bureaucracy and if any investor wants to bring any development it should be approved early because it’s one of the way developments can happen in the country.
Captain Michael Mukula thanked the Katikkiro for responding to the invitation showing a good relationship Mahathi has with the kingdom of Buganda
However Mukula urged government officials especially in charge of handling investors to revise the way of doing things because they take long in responding to project proposals given to them hence the delay of many projects and at some points investors change their minds and shift to other countries
Mukula expressed their willingness to work with the local communities by giving them jobs, but also called up Uganda national Roads authority to construct the road from Kawuku main Road to Bugiri Bukasa
Mahathi infra Uganda limited is investing in self-propelled barges, an oil jetty, storage tanks and a truck loading facility in Uganda to transport petroleum products from Kisumu to Kampala through Lake Victoria
Barge transport is expected to reduce petroleum transportation costs significantly and will offer Uganda strategic advantages of becoming a logistics hub for the landlocked neighboring countries

Others are Puerto Rico, Russia, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Switzerland, the UAE, Uganda, the United Kingdom, the United States and Zaire.
