Construction of Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Infrastructure – Phase 1; Package 1: Roadwork
WORKS COVERAGE
Works for Phase 1
Length of 20.9 km of Morogoro Road (from Kimara to Kivukoni Ferry including sections of Kawawa Road), Kawawa Road (from Magomeni to Moroco) and Msimbazi Road (from Fire to the Intersection with Nyerere Road)
- The Works will also include construction of 29 ordinary bus stations ( bus stops) within roadway;
- 5 bus terminals
- 2 bus depots along the project corridor
- Construction of 3 Pedestrian bridges at Ubungo, Kimara Mwisho and Moroco
CONTRACT AMOUNT - Tanzania Shillings 240,878,713,651.61
CONTRACT PERIOD - 36 Months
We would like to remind the Public that, today we are signing the last Package Contract. previously we had signed the following contracts.
PACKAGE WORKS COVERAGE
1. Package 2 Ubungo Depot, Feeder Station and Up- Country Bus Terminal;
2. Package 3 Jangwani Depot;
3. Package 4 Kivukoni Terminal and Feeder Station;
4. Package 5 Kivukoni Terminal and Feeder Station;
5. Package 6 Feeder Stations;
6. Package 7 Relocations of Power Utilities
The above seven construction contracts will cost a total of Tshs 289,784,170,486.61.
The signing of these contracts is part of the Government's efforts to decongest traffic in Dar es salaam
