What do you with a research paper after its been published?

I was just wondering what actions are taken once you finish and publish a research paper. I'm not all that experienced nor informed, so I'm just genuinely curious what could be done with one's research after it's finished. I'm talking more so about humanities research, so it's not necessarily experiments and results, its more so about possible solutions that could be taken.

Mine is about homelessness and possible solutions to help combat it, so I'm just wondering what more I could do with my paper.
