Mahesabu,
it seems you have not read my post well enough to realize the tone that I chose to use. In my post, I have not taken a 'Hosea' position and for your information I am in very good contact with my alma mater and I visit the university every once in a while whenever I go home.
These sentiments that Mkamap is throwing are similar to the sentiments that students who were selected to similar programs offered at DUCE and MUCE with the same programs at UDSM. Initially these students took a very inferior position compared to those at UDSM. Nasty sentiments were sent across. But with the diligence and commitment of the staff in this constituent colleges these sentiments are dying out because we have seen record performances from students in these constituent colleges.
I know of lecturers who failed to join UDSM but managed to join these other universities quite easily and hold grudges against UDSM. These are the proponents of some of these sentiments.
In my earlier post, I did not mean to support UDSM but rather try to understand where Mkamap was coming from. So if that did not work for you as it has not worked for Mkamap then you are also entitled to your own interpretation.
everything takes time after all UDSM may act in the manner it has chosen for the sake of quality. How would you allow an institute with only 1% PHD holders, 7% MA/MSC holders and 40% One degree holders with the rest being Advanced Diploma holders become a University? Think about this. But the good thing is that these colleges have worked hard in employing more qualified lecturers and have qualified part-timers in a bid of setting off better programmes. And as I said it is a process. Mkamap will always hear negative sentiments but he should work on getting a good degree rather than wasting his energy on negative comments. He and all those enrolled in these colleges are the salt for change in attitudes. Not me and not you mahesabu unless you are also a student/lecturer there.
If I did not respect his views in the first place I would not have had a good word for him. Maybe you are the one who needs a check for the way you responded.
