When completed Terminal 3 will facilitate 6 million passengers annually – in line with the predicted growth of Dar es Salaam's international air traffic – leaving the current international Terminal 2 to deal with domestic flights.

Dubai wanajenga aiport mpya na UTAKAPOKAMILIKA hivi karibuni utahudumia zaidi ya abiria 160,000,000 na mizigo tani 12,000,000 kwa mwaka (Ref. Dubai opens 'world's largest' airport).

Dubai ni nchi ambayo kwa takwimu za mwaka huu (2013) ina population ya 2,106,000 while Tanzania ina almost 44,000,000 including Zanzibar.

Tumekuwa tukikaribiana kiuchumi na nchi kama Malaysia miaka ya 2000 mwanzoni..Lakini hivi sasa wametuacha mbali mnooo..Huku wakitegemea zao la....Mpira na Mafuta kidogo..

Tunahitaji kubadilisha mfumo..

Leadership haichipuwi kwenye miti. Unataka kiongozi awe Slaa? au Afande Sele? au DJ?
 
Hawa wakenya ndio angalau tunakaribiana nao, sasa ukitaka kUjilinganisha na wasauzi au wamisri ambao Wako dunia nyingine utakuwa unacheza ndombolo msibani.

Hawa wakenya ni majirani zetu na uchumi wao hauko juy sana kwahiyo tungeweza kujifunza kwao kama tuko serious! Lakini kwakuwa tumechagua fani ya Sanaa basi ngoja tuendelee na haya maigizo.
kwa maana watanzania hatuwezi kujenga uwanja kama wa oliver tambo au Schiphol....., tusigeze huko tuangalie Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ruanda kwamaand hao ndio tunao fanana nao kiuchumi......! CDM noumer!
 
I think it could be difficult for me to go through all the contributions. But the information given by our friend RITZ has some force facts. The one responsible for building terminal three (third terminal as he mentioned) is Tanzania Airports Authority not Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. The two Institutions differ on their objectives i.e TAA an Operator for air transport and TCAA a regulator.
However photos are ok i may advise RITZ to contact TAA Legal and public relation office they can provide with him facts on the project. OR contact the project Director Eng Mohamed Millanga TAA head office.

Maajabu ya Waafrika utashangaa kwamba kuna wengine ambao ni Watanzania kwa 100% lakini huwa wananyongeka sana wanapoona taarifa kama hizi! Yaani watokacho wao ni kuona Tanzania inadidimia ili wapate cha kisema kwenye majukwaa ya siasa za nje na hapa JF! Mungu awalaani wote hawa!

Nadhani hii terminal imechorwa kwa kuzingatia ufinyu wa eneo lenyewe la airport ya sasa ambalo limezungukwa na makazi ya watu na halina nafasi ya kupanua zaidi bila kuingia gharama kubwa ya kuwalipa fidia wananchi ili kuwabomolea makazi yao. Ila ukweli unabaki kuwa airport hii haitakidhi mahitaji ya usafiri nchini ndani ya muda mfupi ujao..
 
Wajenge tu japo tuambulie hizo maana tunaweza kukosa vyote na tusijue pesa zimekwenda wapi

all in all..tanzania tunataka kujenga new terminal full stop na picha ndio hizo..toa maoni yako sio hizi politics za kisheria mara umekosea jina mara objectives...changia unavyouona huo uwanja..sio unajengwa keshokutwa unakuja kulalamika uwanja mdogo mara hautoshi mara blahblah..this is your time toa maoni..sio kurekebisha hoja zisizokuwa na mashiko.

kwahiyo unapendekeza ujengwe wapi kwenye maeneo makubwa?..chalinze? Bagamoyo?...hai kilimanjaro?....hivi pale kia hapafai kujenga terminal kubwa ili wageni wakija wafikie kia then waende mbugani na mlimani kisha wapande ndege ndogo kuja dar??
 
Huu mradi ulipaswa uende sambamba na uimarishaji wa miundo mbinu mingine kama upanuzi wa barabara na ujenzi wa flyover ili kuufanya mji kufikika kirahisi kila upande vinginevyo mradi utakuwa hauna maana

Kuna ufinyu wa dira kuona mbali kwa wataalam
wetu. Wamevuruga mengi mno.
Kwa mfano hadi sasa barabara zinatengenezwa za lanes mbili tu kila upande.
Tatizo la traffic jam baada ya miaka michache tu toka sasa litarudi pale pale!!!
Mambo duniani siku hizi ni mabarabara ya lanes 3 au 4 na zaidi.
Ni gharama za kijinga kurudia kufanya kitu hicho hicho kila baada ya miaka michache, iwe ni ujenzi wa airports au barabara au vinginevyo.
Wakati unafikiria hayo unatakiwa vilevile kuzingatia location ya uwanja wa ndege wa dar es salaam. Si tu kwamba umezungukwa na makazi ya watu bali pia upo karibu sana na mjini! Kutokana na hilo huwezi tu kuu-expand utakavyo bila kuzingatia suala la location ya uwanja. In addition to that, uwanja utakuwa na uwezo wa ku-cater 6 million passengers....hii si kwamba hiyo idadi itafikia within a year or two! Kenya for instance, pamoja na kwamba uchumi wa nchi hiyo ulianza kufunguka tangu miaka ya sitini, bado hadi leo Jomo Kenyatta ndo inakaribia(haijafika) kufikia kuhudumia abiria 6 million a year!! Dar es salaam kwa sasa nadhani ndo wanakaribia abiria 2 millions; so when it's said kuhudumia 6 millions passengers ndo basi tena, uwanja ukishakamilika inafuata influx ya abiria!! But in addition, uwanja uliopo kwa sasa unahudumia wageni wanaokaribia 2 millions, huo uwanja si kwamba unabomolewa, bado upo na utaendelea kuwapo! Hata kama wanasema utatumika ku-save domestic flights, kama itaonekana ni lazima international flights ziendelee kutumia hapo basi hiyo option ipo na itaendelea! Lakini pamoja na yote hayo nadhani watu wanasahau kwamba this's not all about how big ur airport is but economic and social activities available in the country ndizo zinazo-determine ukubwa wa uwanja! Kuna wengine wanatolea mfano wa Dubai huku wakisahau kwamba angalau 50% of world population yenye uelewa; wangependa kufika dubai at least once in their life time! This also apply to US or South Africa(historia ya SA imekuwa kivutio cha world population kutamani kufika huko)! So, wakati tunafikiria suala la kuwa na uwanja kama ule wa Oliver Tambo tunatakiwa vilevile kuangalia socio-economic activities zilizopo na kufanya forecasting.

Mkuu Ritz si lazima ijengwe airport kama ya Dubai, lakini hiyo picha nilioina ya hiyo terminal III bado ni aibu sana kwa nchi kama yetu kuwa na airport kama hiyo. It's a joke!

Yes, hata mimi nilikuja gundua kosa langu baadae kabisa - kumbe nilikuwa na angalia bird's eye view na sio jengo kwa uhalisia wake - thanks 4 the photo - naona ulipiga terminal 5. Je, ukupata tatizo na watu wa usalama!! Tukirudi kuhusu design ya third terminal ya uwanja wetu wa ndege, Mkuu bado nasisitiza kwamba design ya jengo la mwanzo yaani ndege zinapo park ukiangalia nyuma ya jengo hilo linaonekana limejengwa ki-godown/workshop regardless ya kama unaliangalia ukiwa angani au ukiwa aridhini unless kama sehemu ya chini ya jengo hilo imekuwa designed spefically kuhifadhi CARGO kubwa kubwa na sio baggages, kama ni hivyo hapo naweza kuhafikiana nao. Jengo la pili yake hilo kidogo limekuwa designed vizuri lakini not 2 my liking, nisijue wenzangu wanalionaje? Mkuu juzi juzi hapa Waziri Mkuu alikuwa Uchina na akakutana na Viongozi wa Kampuni kubwa ya kusafirisha abiria kwa ndege, kampuni hiyo hiyo inadesign na kujenga Terminals za Airport nchini mwao mpaka nchi za nje - mfano Merikani, sasa hawa jamaa wa Civil Aviation kwa nini awalinganishi design za hawa wa Holanzi/ma Brit na design za kampuni hii ya Kichina inayo sifika Duniani kote. Kama Waingereza wameona umuhimu wa kuomba Wachina waje kwao ku-redesign na Kujenga yard ya London Dock sisi tunashindwa nini kuwa-emulate i.e tujenge majengo yanayo vutia. Mimi ndio maoni yangu mkuu, ila naipa pongezi Serikali kwa dhamila yake nzuri ya kutaka kulifanya Taifa letu linonekana la ki-leo.

Unajicontradict. One one side you agree with me on the resticted land availabilty around the airport, on the other you dispute the notion that moving and building a newer modern and spacious (land wise) as being impractical.
Bila shaka hatuwezi kujilinganisha na Dubai, lakini kama ulikuwa unafuatilia maendeleo yake, ungefahamu kuwa as recently as in early 70's Dubai kimaendeleo ilikuwa tunakwenda nayo sambamba kabisa.

Ukichukulia bahati ya natural resources zetu na upatikanaji wa bidhaa za mafuta, ungeona iko haja ya kuangalia mbali kidogo na kujiyarisha kwa kihamisha kiwanja cha ndege.
Kipawa hapatoshi na wala hapafai tena kuwa na International Airport.
