Hatahivyo hiyo picha ni ya Jengo ambalo ilipigwa picha muda mrefu sana na sasahivi liko kwenye mchakato wa ukarabati mkubwa baada ya kuungua moto hivi karibuni.

Ungekuwa umejitendea haki wewe mwenyewe kama ungetuwekea picha ya majengo yote yaliyoko uwanjani hapo na majengo mengine mapya yanayoendelea kujengwa pamoja na runways & taxways ili watu wapate picha ya uwanja tunaouzungumzia.

Angalau kwa kiwango cha wakenya walichofanya kwa Jomo Kenyatta International Airport wanajivunia kuwa na uwanja wa ndege wwenye kukidhi viwango, sio hapa bongo wakati wa peak hours ukifika terminal two unatamani kupiga mtu makofi kwa jinsi watu walivyosongamana.

Wanaukumbi.

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority has awarded the contract for a third terminal at Dar es Salaam's Julius Nyerere international airport to the Royal BAM Group of Holland’s BAM International.

The Dutch company will oversee the design and construction of the new terminal which will be built in two phases in a joint venture with British sister company BAM Nuttall.

When completed Terminal 3 will facilitate 6 million passengers annually – in line with the predicted growth of Dar es Salaam's international air traffic – leaving the current international Terminal 2 to deal with domestic flights.

The first phase of the project will cost over €130 million and involves the construction of the main terminal building. This will facilitate 3.5 million people, while the second phase will serve a further 2.5 million.

The airport was originally designed to handle an annual capacity of about 1.2 million passengers however in 2012 over 2 million passengers passed through the airport.

BAM International renovated the airport in a two-phase project in 2006 and 2010.

KLM's gigantic Boeng 777 lands at KIA to meet tourists influx

The Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) on May 29 introduced a new airplane Boeing 777 which carries more than 300 passengers for its customers in Tanzania due to the high number of tourists coming into Tanzania this season.

The jetliner which touched the ground of Tanzania for the first time on Monday arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport (KIA) at around 7:45 p.m. from Amsterdam and was scheduled to leave for Dar-es-Salaam at around 9:00 p.m.

Nina kuhakikishia AT MAXIMUM GROSS TAKE OFF WEIGHT ndege kubwa yeyote ile kama A340, B777 B747 na haswa Airbus 380, haziwezi ku take off kwenye runway ya futi 8,500.
Huo ndio urefu wa Dar airport.
Na kama bado utanibishia, basi nitajua niko kijiweni napoteza mda wangu tu.

Antonov zinatuwa vizuri tu Mwanza unajuwa ni kwa nini???
Kwa sababu by design ina matairi mengi sana ambayo husambaza uzito wake!

You obviously know not what you are talking about.
Kama source zako ni magazeti na google, obviously I'm wasting my time here. Upeo wa uelewa wako ni mdogo mno kuweza kujudge uongo na ukweli ni upi.
Kumbuka nimesema DAR AIRPORT RUNWAY AT 8,500 ft is too short for the bigger jets to take off at MAXIMUM TAKE OFF WEIGHT.... Underline maximum!
KIA uliyoquote its runway is of over 11800ft!! No problem here!

I still insist the present premises at DIA cannot accomodate a runway long enough for the 777 you quoted to fly direct to China .... Inaweza to Dubai and shorter distances, but will have to land somehere with a longer runway to refuel kwa safari za masafa marefu.

Sasa kama lengo ni kuwa na international airport yenye regional capabilities basi sawa.

BTW just so as you know, it's over 30years of flying experince, and 20 in boeing 747 talking to you here!
I am one of the only 3 Tanzanians who have had this priviledge!

Ndege ya KLM, Boeng 777 ilifanyiwa hadi sherehe ilipotua kwa mara ya kwanza KIA na baadaye Dar es salaam. Ndiyo utaratibu wa hiyo ndege inapotoka Uholanzi, haituwi Nairobi. Ndege ya AIR FORCE ONE ambayo Bush, Obama, Clinton wametumia kuja Tanzania ni BOENG 747, sasa unachobisha bado ni nini? Kwani hivyo navyo hadi u-Google kujua?

Ndege yangu ya kwanza kabisa kupanda miaka ya 90 ilikuwa hii hapa chini baada ya ndege ya Air France kushindwa kazi siku hiyo. Haya sasa endelea kubisha maana nimekuandikia hata ndege ya Ukraine, Antonov 225 imeshatua Dar.

Heshima yako mkuu, nilikuwa offline kwa siku mbili/tatu hivi - nikuchekeshe kidogo; nikiangalia design ya Kenyatta International Airport inaonekana kama a cross between Colosseum in ROME and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon created/built by EmperorNebuchadnezzar II, for his wife - Queen Amytis. To be honest - the second builing reminds me of a Royal Botannical Garden, kusema kweli mtu ukiliangalia jengo la pili si rahisi kuamini kama jengo hilo ni terminal ya wasafiri kuingia na kutokea kwenye ndege! Kitu nilicho gundua mchoro wa Terminal3 wa uwanja wetu unaweza kuwa-redesigned kwa kurekebisha mapungufu hapa na pale, alafu mwisho wa siku tukahibuka na Terminal ya kujivunia, na kwa kuwa bado ni pendekezo naona bado atujachelewa kurekebisha mambo. Tukija kwenye design za terminal za viwanja vingine Duniani si rahisi msafiri wa kawaida ambaye huko aidha kwenye transit au unateremka tu kwenda mjini kwa taxi, mabasi au train ukajua terminal nzima imekuwa design kivipi, sana sana atajaribu kukadria umbali wa kutoka desk la uhamiaji mpaka unapotoka nje ya jengo. Ukitaka kujua ukubwa wa eneo na linavyo onekana basi Aerial photography ndio inaweza kukupa a Bird's eye view ya sehemu husika, in other words taking of photographs of the ground from an elevated position is the best option, mimi nafikili wenzetu wanao weka chumvi mno waliangalia terminal ya Kenyatta wakiwa nje ya jengo au umbali wa kutembea ukiwa ndani kutoka desk la uhamiaji mpaka nje ya jengo - ukiwa ndani kwa ndani unaweza kudanganyika kirahisi sana.

Mwenye picha za terminal 3 tujue ujenzi umefikia wapi aiseh. Si walisema unakamilika November 2015?
 
I smell some foul play..kwa nini design isichorwe upya badala ya kukopi ya Kenya?
