    i read many newspapers and follow many other media sources on-line. despite what many in my country, the united states, may say, i find al jazeera quite balanced. you are to be applauded.
    i do not regret that bin laden is dead--nor do i believe it a moment to celebrate. regardless of one's cause, death is nothing to celebrate.
    i mourn those who died on 9/11, and i mourn those who have died since in afghanistan and iraq.
    ours is a small planet with diminishing resources. unless we learn to live together, we shall be forced to die together.
    to the dead of all faiths, peace. the same to the living.

    This was beautifully written and from a perspective I believe many people need to understand. We all need to understand each other, we'll never agree, but tolerance is key. The American people need to know that our hands are bloody too, in different ways yes, but bloody nonetheless. It amazes me at how little my countrymen know about the truth behind these wars and uprisings. It's so upsetting because this information is not readily available for obvious reasons. But how do you get people to see the truth?

    In the end the war on terror is really an attempt by a neo-imperial power to suppress an armed Islamic insurrection that is attempting to rid of governments in the Muslim world who are puppets of the west and who turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people. These western backed puppet governments are responsible for the deaths of 10's of thousands of innocent men, women, and children and are in effect guilty of the same kind of murder that Bin Laden was. These governments are also virtually unconditionally supported by the West. The West has their war on terror and the Arab street has their war on imperialism. Both are raging as we speak and only time can tell the outcome of both.

    Now, what about Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Morocco, Jordan, Algeria? The US has said very little if something about the protests in those countries as well as the imprisonment of activists and the denial of free speech and association, sometimes even shamefully taking sides with the dictator and their corrupt and violent regime, as is the case with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

    Actually, I do know what Orientalism is. As I also know that Edward Said - the man who invented said term - was no more fond of certain Arab governments than I am. I am aware of the US' checkered history; I'm aware of our sins. I accept we're hardly the world savior. What I do believe, underneath it all, is *that we're trying to do better.* And that painting our attempts to do so - like in Egypt and in Libya - as imperialism merely gives Gaddafi and like-minded tyrants a blank cheque to do with as they wish.

    Here's my question to you: if you turn a blind eye to Gaddafi's crimes - if you do nothing, simply because you dogmatically believe that whatever the US and NATO does must, by definition, be evil and wrong - are you not in effect enabling him?

    Oh wow, like usual my comments, which are always grounded in historical facts and truth, cause controversy. Former US president Harry Truman one time said "I'm not going to give them hell, I'm going to give them the truth and they are going to think its hell". What I am saying here is that it should be incumbent upon all American to put down their emotions, pick up a book, and do some intensive research without relying on mainstream US media as it has done a great injustice to the US.

    As Americans, we have been indoctrinated to believe that "These so called radical Muslims hate us because of our freedoms, democracy, and culture". Well that sounds really cute and everything but no where in history has tens of 1000's of ordinary people blew themselves up in the name of God because they don't like someone else's culture or freedoms. It doesn't exist. What's happening here is a text book example of Newton's Third Law of Thermodynamics: "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". Decades (actually century's) of Western and US intervention in Islamic affairs (which is the first action) has generated an equal and opposite reaction which is manifesting itself into an violent organized group of "thugs, terrorists, murders (what ever term you want to employ)" that are seeking to cause synchronized chaos in the west and Muslim world, as to force the US and the West to boggle themselves down in a war or wars, and spend hundreds of billions, in reality trillions of dollars, with the aim of bankrupting the US and West which will naturally lead to the collapse of the US Empire.

    Only then in these individuals eyes (Al-Qaeda, Global Radical Islamist movements, elements inside of the Pakistani ISI and Saudi government) will the Muslim world be able to reorganize itself into its natural order which is a Caliphate which will naturally come to power as it always has. I think the Republic of Turkey will host it again, however that is pure speculation with no guarantee of it happening in our life time. If you don't like the truth I'm sorry, however that is it.

    Don't worry folks. It's very unlikely that there really is a place called Hell, so burning in it is probably not even a remote possibility. Now, if lily, wants you to burn in Mexico, that is something that could really take place. I hear the sun is crazy hot down there...

    How can Adam be burnt in Hell, when his only Sin was to bite a small piece of the Apple offered to him by Eva, under the suggestion of the Snake, though God forbids it? Isn't it excessive to have Adam be burnt in Hell for such a trivial Sin?

    Destructive verbal diahrea is not needed in this world today. "My way or no way" has never worked before and will never work in the future. Jewish history is full of atrocities. Even you can not think they cause them all. Zionism and the creation of the state of Isreal is the result of the worst atrocity that humans ever inflicted on other human beings. To many of us, "Credible sources" are those sources which give us the information WE WANT TO BELIEVE TO BE THE TRUTH. When the very same sources give us the information we don't want to believe, we consider and tag those sources as unreliable, liars or propaganda machinery.

Al Qaeda says it will release a recording of Osama bin Laden made one week before his death [GALLO/GETTY] Al-Qaeda has confirmed the death of its leader, Osama bin Laden, and said in an online posting that it would continue to launch attacks on the West.
The group said it would not deviate from the path of armed struggle and that bin Laden's blood " is more precious to us and to every Muslim than to be wasted in vain".

The statement was released on forums sympathetic to al-Qaeda and translated by the SITE monitoring service on Friday.

"It [bin Laden's blood] will remain, with permission from Allah the Almighty, a curse that chases the Americans and their agents, and goes after them inside and outside their countries,"al-Qaeda said.

It was not clear what country the statement had been posted from.

The message called upon Pakistan, where bin Laden was discovered, to "rise up and revolt to cleanse this shame that has been attached to them... and to clean their country from the filth of the Americans who spread corruption in it".

It added that the group would soon release an audiotape of bin Laden that was recorded one week before he was killed by US commandos on Monday.

Al Qaeda's branch in Yemen confirmed the death of bin Laden four days ago, after speaking to their contacts in Pakistan.

A spokesman for Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said they were devastated at the news.

"This news has been a catastrophe for us. At first we did not believe it, but we got in touch with our brothers in Pakistan who have confirmed it," a member told the AFP news agency.

Umeshafika Libya na kujionea hali halisi ya watu na maendeleo yao? Nakushauri ufike ujionee halafu ndio utaona kwa nini watu wana usongo na Colonel. Nilikuwa huko last year, inatia aibu nchi yenye utajiri wa wese kama ile wakati kila kitu ni shaghalabagala, raia wengi ni maskini na hawana mbele wala nyuma. Tembea ujionee.
