Real Madrid and Manchester United will get their seasons under way when they face off in the UEFA Super Cup at Macedonia's Philip II Arena on Tuesday.

Holders Madrid are appearing in the competition for the second year in succession, having successfully defended their Champions League title, and it is their third appearance in the last four seasons. Manchester United, meanwhile, are making their fourth appearance in the Super Cup after winning last season's Europa League.

The two teams have already met this summer, having played a pre-season friendly against each other at the International Champions Cup. That game, which took place in California last month, finished 1-1, but the Red Devils emerged victorious on penalties.

Hope for Manchester United?
It is not completely clear what caused Fabinho to abandon training in this manner but halfway through the clip below he walks off.

And, on the way out, kicks a football on the side of the pitch and deliberately throws his bib to the ground with training still going on.

The French media have not made anything of this incident, but the video below has started to go viral.

Perhaps there is hope for Manchester United or another major team in Europe?

The UEFA Super Cup is an annual competition played between the winners of the Champions League and the winners of the Europa League.

Founded in 1972, the Super Cup was initially contested by the winners of the European Cup (later the Champions League) and the Cup Winners Cup. This format was standard until 1999, when the latter competition was discontinued. From 2000 on, the UEFA Cup (which later became the Europa League) winners provided the opposition.

The format of the Super Cup featured two legs from its inception until 1998, when it was changed to a single match played at a neutral venue. Monaco's iconic Stade Louis II was used as the venue from 1998 to 2012, with UEFA opting to use a variety of stadia since 2013.

Interestingly, the 1972 Super Cup, in which Ajax defeated Rangers, is considered unofficial by UEFA because the Scottish side were banned from UEFA competitions. As a result, the 1973 edition, which saw Ajax beat Inter, is deemed the first official UEFA Super Cup.

Serge Aurier: Heading to the Premier League?
With PSG keen to sell Serge Aurier as they look to recoup some money in this summer transfer window after shelling out on Neymar, the Ivorian defender looks set for a major Premier League move.

Aurier has consistently been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks.

The Daily Telegraph report that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on signing Serge Aurier.

Can Serge Aurier enter the UK?
Holding up any move for Aurier is the PSG defender’s appeal against a conviction for assaulting a police officer.

Aurier cannot legally enter the UK right now so any transfer cannot be completed.

The Ivorian right back missed PSG’s match at Arsenal in October for this very reason.

Manchester United in pole position for Serge Aurier
When it comes to PSG news, the Twitter account Paris United have established themselves as a key account which picks up gossip and rumour long before the French press.

For example, Paris United reported on July 21, 2017 that Neymar would be joining PSG.

Today, Paris United have an update on Serge Aurier:

They Tweeted: “Yes there is an agreement between Man United and Aurier. Chelsea has just contacted his agent but Aurier prefers Man United.”

Is Aurier joining Manchester United?
There are a number of factors that make Aurier’s move to Manchester United a surprise.

First off, Aurier is unlikely to be first choice at Old Trafford with Antonio Valencia playing in the same position.

In addition, Aurier infamously trolled Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a Periscope video during their time together at PSG.

Aurier is not known as the most stable character on or off the pitch and it seems surprising that both Chelsea and Manchester United are so keen on a back-up right wing back/full back.
