If you watched the Burnley game closely, you’ll agree with me that Diogo Dalot was far more effective than the passive Dorgu in that left wing-back role.

Dalot had a mixed game, but one thing is clear, he added real value down the left. He was United’s main outlet, beating Kyle Walker 1v1, driving forward with confidence, and grabbing a big assist with solid wing play.

The numbers back it up: he won all his tackles and aerial duels, touched the ball over 70 times, created chances, and became the first United player to register an assist in the league this season.

While Zirkzee worked well as a link-up player, Dalot brought energy and purpose down the flank. Simple truth is Dalot didn’t just play the role, he made it his own. ❤️🔥

Three years later, in 2015, Ferguson spoke to ESPN and maintained that by sticking with a manager, "you get consistency and you get success."

There's no evidence that sacking a manager gives you success," Ferguson said.

"But there is evidence at Manchester United, at Nottingham Forest, at Arsenal that [if] you retain the manager for long periods, you get consistency and you get success."

What happens next with Amorim remains to be seen, but based on his previous quotes, it’s fair to say Ferguson believes he should be given at least some more time.
