RB Trent Anord
Superb defensive shift and also got forward down the right flank.
His delivery was erratic, with good closely followed by bad, but made the cross that mattered count as he found Salah lurking at the back post.
CB: Joel Matip – 6
Looked unsettled when Tottenham went direct and was troubled by Moura’s pace.
CB: Virgil van Dijk – 8
Harry Kane is still trying to find his way out of the Dutchman’s pocket.
Then played mind games with Moussa Sissoko and forced the midfielder to blaze over the bar.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 9
The stand-out player for Liverpool, constantly offering an option out wide and threatening with excellent deliveries.
Provided the assist for the opener.
CM: Jordan Henderson – 6
Passing was not up to standard but his intensity helped Liverpool dominate early on.
CM: Georginio Wijnaldum – 6
Quietly effective as he got among the Tottenham midfielders, although his influence waned as the game broke up.
CM: James Milner – 7
Brilliant in the opening 45 as he charged around the pitch making tackles and getting the Reds moving forward.
RAM: Mohamed Salah – 6
Looked bright and dangerous but his decision making was poor as he continues to try too hard in front of goal.
Should have played Sadio Mane in and wasted a number of shooting opportunities, but then hit the target with his late header that led to the winner.
LAM: Sadio Mane – 7
Thought he had scored with a curling effort and pressed well, causing problems with his pace.
ST: Roberto Firmino – 7
Brilliant header opened the scoring and his effort set the tone.
SUB: Fabinho (on for Henderson, 76 mins) – 7
Physical presence disrupted the Tottenham side and re-established control.
SUB: Divock Origi (on for Milner, 76 mins) – 6
Carried the ball well and provided a threat.
SUB: Dejan Lovren (on for Salah, 92 mins) – N/A
Wasted valuable time.
