Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has vowed to “come back stronger” as he thanked Kopites for their messages of support in the wake of his injury setback.

The England international is facing around six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a fracture to his lower left leg in Wednesday night's 3-1 win over Burnley in the Premier League at Turf Moor.


Gomez was hurt by a strong challenge from Clarets skipper Ben Mee midway through the first half.

“I just wanted to say thank-you to you all for your kind messages and well wishes,” Gomez told Liverpoolfc.com


“Obviously, I'm gutted to have picked up the injury but, thankfully, it's not too serious.

“It's one that I can be back stronger from soon. I'll do my best to come back as quick as possible and hopefully be back with you guys soon. Thank-you.”
