UEFA Champions League - Liverpool handed tough Hoffenheim tie
Jurgen Klopp heads back to Germany
Liverpool will meet Hoffenheim in the Champions League play-off.
The Reds were handed arguably the hardest possible tie as Jurgen Klopp heads back to Germany.
It will also be a return for Roberto Firmino, who spent four years with the Sinsheim club
Hoffenheim, managed by 30-year-old Julian Nagelsmann, finished fourth in last season's Bundesliga, just two points behind Borussia Dortmund.
The first leg will be at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on August 15/16, with the return leg at Anfield on August 22/23.
Hoffenheim were one of the league's surprise packages last season but have since sold Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy to Bayern Munich.
The Reds sealed their progress into the qualifier by finishing fourth in last season's Premier League, confirmed with a final day 3-0 win over Middlesbrough.
The ties will take place on August 15/16, with the second leg August 22/23.

Jurgen Klopp has been in constant contact with Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe as he looks to pull off the most dramatic transfer hijack of the summer, according to reports.
Mbappe, the 18-year-old starlet in France’s Ligue 1, has been the subject of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer after producing a stunning campaign last season.
Real Madrid was reportedly prepared to offer £161 million (about $213 million) for Mbappe, a would-be world record sum, that many clubs would not be able to afford. Pep Guardiola says Manchester City would be capable of paying the fee too.
But both City and Real could be pipped to the transfer by

Hurrah!
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport AND Gazzetta dello Sport, who have both claimed Juventus’ Paulo Dybala is now the man Barca want to fill the Neymar-shaped hole in their squad.
