[h=1]Coutinho handed Copa America call-up[/h]Philippe Coutinho will be bidding for Copa America glory this summer after being called up to Dunga's Brazil squad for the tournament.

The 22-year-old has been in inspired form for Liverpool this campaign, and his efforts recently earned him a place in the PFA's Team of the Season.
The former Inter Milan midfielder has now received further reward in the form of a seat on the plane to Chile, where Brazil will target a ninth Copa America crown.
Dunga's men have been drawn alongside Peru, Colombia and Venezuela in Group C, and Coutinho will hope to add to his tally of six senior caps in those games.
This year's edition of the Copa America kicks off on June 11, with the final scheduled for July 4.

[h=1]Fowler sees Phil as Player of the Season[/h]Robbie Fowler believes the quality of Philippe Coutinho's creative work will land the Brazilian the Player of the Season prize at the club's Players' Awards later this month.

The Liverpool No.10 scored with a fine half-volley and assisted the winner by Steven Gerrard from a corner in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.
His first-half opener was Coutinho's eighth goal of a campaign that has already brought recognition in the form of inclusion in the PFA Barclays Premier League Team of the Year.
Fowler is a huge fan of the attacker and, as a former striker at Anfield himself, particularly highlights the benefits of a forward having a teammate with such vision.
The Reds ambassador predicts that Coutinho could be scooping a significant individual honour when current players, former stars, staff and fans come together on May 19.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "The stand-out player this year has probably been Philippe Coutinho, I'd be surprised if he didn't win it. He has scored goals.
"As a forward, I loved playing with players like that because you knew that you were going to get a few chances in a game.
"He is one of those players that can open up defences; ultimately, the forward players have got to be helping him but he certainly helps the forwards.
"He puts the ball into certain positions where you think it is impossible at times, and some of his footwork in creating space for himself is a joy to watch.
"It's a match made in heaven for any player who plays up front for Liverpool when you've got a player that talented behind you."
Fans have been voting for their Goal of the Season in an online poll and Coutinho's name again springs to mind when Fowler considers his preference in that field.
"Maybe his one against Southampton, that was a little bit special," the 40-year-old responded. "I can't really think of many better than that."

If anyone has to ask why Bob Paisley got the job, I would suggest that they don't know their LFC history. Shankly's dynasty was built on the "boot room" and Paisley was the next in line because he stood by Shankly as he lifted this club from the mediocre to the spectacular. Paisley earned his stripes and then set about eclipsing even the great Bill Shankly. Mentioning him in the same breath as Brendan Rodgers is unbelievable. There is no comparison, then or now. Ditto the astonishing nonsense about him being the "new Shanks" last season. Heand his team did very well, but they won nothing. Whether it was down to him, to Suarez', to the team etc... is up for debate. What ISN'T up for debate is whether he belongs in a list of names that reads Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish and Benitez (for all you Rafa-haters.) He doesn't even belong in the same continent, never mind having his mug on the same flag.

I've supported this club since 1975, as a child, a teenager and a man, and the level of mediocrity we've come to accept in modern times is beyond appalling. And Rodgers is that - mediocre. At best. He doesn't even compare to Evans (who was part of our club, a loyal servant, a decent man and a CUP WINNER), never mind Houllier or Rafa.And Bob Paisley comparisons? It's like comparing vintage wine to Asda's own brand blackcurrant cordial.

I think we need to aim higher, we should pay the price of not being in UCL for once and buy bigger, Benteke to me should be a second or third striker; I would take a risk and push for Higuain, Teves, Lacazette as first choice and go for Benteke on second like (with DS), then Sinclair and Origi can be third choice
