AN OPEN LETTER TO THE UK AMBASSADOR TO TANZANIA
Honorable Ambassador
Your Majesty Madam.
I am a born Citizen of Tanzania. I am appalled by the information from our president that with all UK took from our grandfathers during colonialism yet there were massive debt left behind for the exploited grandchildren of slaves to pay?
To this generation, this is the highest degree of insult we have lived to witness as a nation. The lives and resources lost to slavery are irreplaceable and was extremely brutal, yet we have to pay for this brutality.
Please make me believe there was no debt and the president did not mean to mention the year 1958. I'm grieved and sharply angered by this report, however, I hold ur office with the highest degree of integrity and you will without fear or favor put the facts on the table.
Sincerely
Grieved Citizen of the URT
