Rwabungiri, hakuna kukata tamaa, inatakiwa wote tupige kelele, nchi inageuzwa kama jaa, bidhaa feki toka China. Mavitu yaliyotumika toka Japan, UK, USA nk.
Here is my 5 cents:-
take one.
mode ya biashara ya watanzania is soo 16th century!hao wafanyabiashara wa tz wanaofata bidhaa dubai,bankok,china,HK..,what are they thinking really?!
they end up in 3rd rated local markets with low standards.and just because they are profit-oriented.all they get is being cheated at by locals and buy some very low quality merchandises.and why shouldn't they get cheated?!they are dumb.here i am talking about dumb Tanzanian so called businessmen and women going around Asian markets getting cheated by asians.sometimes i think those asians are right.where could you get a laptop for $200 if it were not fake?where would you get a $100 nokia N95 if weren't fake?!
i don't know if it's Tanzanians loving fake stuffs or cheap stuffs.BUT either way it's plain sad seeing things sold in Tanzanian shops now. It's is kinds of stuffs that can only be sold at gray markets where they come from!
the saddest thing is that, some crazy guy so calls himself a smart business man sells the fake stuffs he bought from a gray market in downtown asian market at a price that is 10 times higher than the buying price.
hence most tanzanians are buying fakes,at a price higher than what originals are being sold at in Europe,US and and ASIA.
same people who buys fakes at a higher price has an annual income ten to 50 times lower than the guy who buys originals at a lower price.it's just sad
take two:-
some very indecent business people who claims that they sell originals form EUROPE,US .i personally hate them equally.
how could u say that,an airman Suit is from ITALY?!while it comes with a label and u sell it for $500.that's just plain trickery.those are $2000+ suits u sell at $500!!and because a so called predeshee has never seen an armani before, just reads and sees it on TV..,he find himself in the right position to buy it.
another thing, more than 70% of electronics are made in CHINA especially low end to mid-end electronics, hence i am talking about all the electronics you could find in an average joe house.
so finding a vendor who says my products are imported from US,EUROPE is very tough especially in Tanzania.we don't have a single high end electronics shop!
so,the case here is that,u would find yourself buying a used product,a refurbished product and guarantee made in china, thailand,Taiwan or Vietnam.
What most Tanzanians don't seem to get is that, technology needed to make low end to mid end electronics is soo 90's that it easy easily available for any country with the right policies and enough qualified human power.Hence, for a big Country like China that is soo easy.
in case of high end electronics, the case is that most high end consumer electronics are designed around the world and probably 70% are made in CHINA,TAIWAN or korea. plain simple.
the world manufacturing proccess is globalized,a HP computer will have a korean made samsung hard drive, intel made chip, japanese made Screen and a chinese made battery.in the end it will be assembled in CHINA.
even the proudly American IPHONE is made in china.from scratch and its being taxed as a high end electronics in Europe.
the world most advanced mobile phone/SMART PHONE is Taiwanese made HTC.the hardware inside these HTC phonces is decades infront of american made motorola.and extremely superior comparing to american branded smart phones:Blackberry, palm and iphone.
so,dont buy something for 5 times the price just because it's American made.OK?
be smarter.Look for warranties, functions, qualities.and just because it is so hard to get that in TZ.just buy something at a reasonable price.and keep hoping that one day Tanzania will wake up from this disaster.
SO, singling out ASIAN countries as the cause for our junkie disaster is wrong.
the problem is us and only us,from unfaithful businessmen to corrupted officials.
take 3:-
what happened to Tanzanian, designers?!here is what people do,u design put on a show if people like it,critics like it then u roll out a fashion line.
I understand that in Tanzania there are few decent designers who still thinks that designing is only for high end, national dress code kind of way.WRONG!
those so called brands you see today started with normal low end design lines then expanded.
it's time now Tanzanian designers starts their lines of clothes to be old in kariakoo and not some extra-expensive boutiques in posta as if local nurses, teachers and tax drives don't deserve to wear decent locally designed clothes.
Tanzanian designers should stop making clothes for tourist and get it done for local people.THERE IS NO reason for a pair of trousers to be sold at Tshs 100,000 or even Tshs 50,000!!its insanity.
and please MITUMBA is not a way foward..,but rather backwards.
Resolutions:
the government:
should Ban any importing of goods through it's ports by local people unless it is a registered business.
ofcourse people should still permitted to import personal stuffs.BUT not in large quantities that will clearly show they are for trade.
instead if you want to sell Panasonic TV's then it's time Panasonic bring their dealers in Tanzania, who will be responsible for any quality issues.
The government should strong rules on warranty coverage, and it should not be less than 2 years for small electronics, and 3 for large consumer electronics like fridges, televisions etc.
if we have 10 million mobile users WHY THE HELL DON'T we HAVE OFFICIAL Samsung vendor, official NOKIA vendor, dealer or distributors?!some people just board planes go to dubai, collect huge chunks of phones and sell back at home.never seen this in any other country in Europe or ASIA.it is Illegal.
in some countries in ASIA and EUROPE it is illegal to sell imported stuffs if there are local version of the same thing.IN TANZANIA..,we have no idea what that means.
TO CONSUMERS:-
we should remember that buying cheap stuffs translated to bad/fake in the most general form,if you like a RAV4 buy a new one.if you can't afford it go buy a corolla. kupenda sifa kumezidi.how the hell can a well running bent be purchased at $20,000?!
we are the recipe for our own disasters, watanzania tunapenda kujikweza..,in the end tricksters gets back on us.
MOST CONUSMER ELECTRONICS from countries like CHINA,KOREA and JAPAN have different electrical standards.
most importantly country like china don't put earthing in any of their electronics because they use different way of earthing.
sasa what happens if when a local businessman goes to a local market in china, collects 200 phones and comes back and sells them is that, they will have different electrical standards.and just because Tanzania haina Watchdog wa electronics, consumers buy the stuffs use them..,kukitokea electric shock starts blaming china!hee..,u were not supposed to use the device in the first place!it were not made for U!
people gets their Television exploding, their mobile phones overheating..,U know why??u are using an incompatible electricity..,in a not so favorable country.don't get me started with Tanesco's electricity..,it's simply not "standardized",we all know that.
