Kwenye mjadala huu ningependa kutoa mfano wa Japan na South Korea. Japan walipohamua kufanya mabadiliko ya kiuchumi na kijamii walipeleka vijana wao nje. Na walivyokusanya nje ya nchi vilisaidia kubadilisha Japan.

South Korea nayo ilifanya hivyo hivyo. Wakati wanafanya mabadiliko walifahamu kuwa nchi zilizotawaliwa na mwingireza zilikuwa na vyuo vikuu vizuri. Hivyo waKorea walikwenda kusoma Pakistani, India na nchi nyingine. Na walichangia kuleta maendeleo ya nchi yao sawa na wale waliosoma nchi zilizoendelea.

Nachokiona hapa ni kila mtu kujivunia kipato chake lakini hakuna kubadilishana mawazo ya kuijenga nchi hile ya mababu.

it is difficult (and not fair) to give example of anyone getting good pay, but at least we can say that top execs of most corporates [multinationals], health professionals, highly skilled finance, IT and some engineers range from 5,000 - 12,000 per month; some EU, WB, US and DFID funded projects on health, infrastructure development, ICT and most of research also pay from 4500 to 15,000 per month. we do also have a few government agencies that advertised their executive posts internationally such as TANROADS, MSD etc with pay range from 10,000 - 20,000.

There are also middle to high level posts in most health programs with salary ranging from 2000 for junior managers to 6,000 for senior managers. all International universities having some development programs in the country [especially health] have their technical staffs get paid around 3000 - 8000. A GOOD EXAMPLE GOES TO PEPFAR AND EU AND WB, PROBABLY NORAD/DANIDA TOO

I agree with you. This is an article from the Daily Nation on a survey done by PWC. If highest paid employees in Kenya earn on average about Tzs 40,000,000 per month, its not far-fetched that similar Tanzanian professionals earn at least half of that.

Nairobi — The highest paid employees in Kenya earn an average monthly salary of Sh2.5 million, according to a human resource survey released by PriceWaterHouseCoopers on Thursday.

The survey shows the highest paying companies are in finance, insurance, professional services, ICT and multimedia, trade, manufacturing and NGOs.

The top salary figure is 400 times higher than the pay of Kenya's lowest paid
The chief executive officers, who work in the financial services sector take home an average salary amounting to Sh2,530,697 each, which is Sh2,525,302 more than the country's lowest minimum wage of Sh5,395.

The minimum wage was raised from Sh4,817 to Sh5,395 last year.

The financial services sector, which comprises bank and non-banking financial institutions, has been one of the most competitive in offering better terms of service for the management cadre.

Highest paid CEO


The salary represents an increase of approximately Sh300,000 compared to the income of the highest paid CEO two years ago, which was about Sh2.2 million.

On the other hand, the lowest paid manager, in the same sector, is a sales representative earning Sh26,875 per month, which is Sh2,503,822 less than the highest paid employee.

This year's PriceWaterHouseCoopers survey covers 114 management jobs and 23 non-management jobs.

The study covered seven sectors - financial services, insurance services, professional services, ICT and multimedia, trade, manufacturing and processing, NGOs, development agencies and missions.

The insurance services, which comprise companies offering cover to private and public assets comes second, with the highest paid manager earning Sh1,985,833, while the lowest (a sales representative) takes home Sh29,300 every month.

The professional services sector, which includes companies offering legal, medical and security services is third in the top salaries league, with the leading CEOs earning Sh1,852,999 and the or her lowest workers in the same sector (assistant accountants) receiving an average pay of Sh10,000 each.

In the ICT and multimedia sector, that has witnessed steady growth in the last few years, the highest paid manager is a factory and production director, whose pay-cheque is Sh1,829,979, while the lowest paid is an internal auditor earning Sh27,000. Companies in this category include those dealing in information services, information technology and also the media.

The trade sector which comprises of companies dealing in buying and selling of commodities - like retail chains and import and export companies - the highest paid employee (the head of human resource) takes home Sh1,786,475.

A management trainee is the lowest paid employee in the sector, receiving a Sh16,250 average monthly wage.

In the manufacturing and processing sector, the head of human resource is the best paid with a monthly salary of Sh1,639,160, while the lowest paid is a warehouse supervisor taking home Sh11,089.

Many companies in Nairobi's industrial area and other major towns that manufacture and process consumer products fall under this category.

The top chief executive officer in the non-governmental sector, which also includes development agencies and missions operating in the country, earns Sh1,205,051 per month, with the lowest paid manager (a chef) receiving Sh10,722.

The ranking changes in the non-management category with manufacturing and processing sector paying the highest salaries.

Topping the list is a personnel assistant, earning an average of Sh162,270 or 30 times more than the country's minimum wage.

The six figure digit is Sh154,269 more than what the lowest paid employees earn in the same sector. These are cleaners, janitors and tea ladies, who earn an average of Sh8,001.

The insurance services sector comes second paying personnel assistants an annual salary of Sh162,162 compared to the lowest earner, a messenger, who takes home Sh12,880 every month.

The trade sector comes third, with an account assistant earning Sh148,401, while his or her lowest paid counterpart, a switchboard operator, receives a monthly salary of Sh8,741.

An accounts assistant in the ICT and multimedia is not far behind, taking home Sh121,362, with the lowest paid employee, a driver of a light vehicle, receiving Sh14,500 per month.

In the fifth position is the non-governmental sector, which also includes development agencies and missions. In this category, the highest earner is a storekeeper with a pay-cheque of Sh119,271 per month, while a security guard is the lowest paid worker getting Sh9,072.

The financial services sector occupies the sixth position, with the top earner being a security supervisor receiving Sh108,355 very month and a messenger being at the lowest end earning Sh15,833.

The professional services sector occupies the last position in the non-management category. A security supervisor tops the salary chart earning Sh93,981 per month, which is 84,306 more than the lowest paid employee, a driver of a heavy vehicle, receiving Sh9,675.

The lowest paid CEOs, according to the study, are those working in the non-governmental organisations and development agencies, while the lowest paid employees in the non-management category are cleaners, janitors and tea servers.

However, comparing the current survey and the 2005 study, salaries paid in all the seven sectors have been on a steady increase.

In 2005, for example a CEO in the non-governmental sector took home an average monthly pay of Sh434,202, currently, the top managers in the same sector now earn more than Sh1 million.

The same applies to the lowest paid workers in the non-management sector. In 2005 the lowest paid subordinate staff, (messengers) earned Sh4,804 per month. In the latest survey, cleaners, janitors and tea ladies occupy the lowest position.

While launching the study at Hotel Intercontinental, PriceWaterHouseCoopers country leader, Mr Charles Muchene, said salaries had increased by between 7 and 9 per cent in the last financial year.

"In the current financial year salaries are projected to increase by an average of 7 per cent as workers become more demanding," Mr Muchene added.

Inflation rates

Despite the increase, the company's country leader said, workers were worse off today than they were a year ago. He attributed this to the increasing inflation rates eroding the purchasing power of many employees.

Mr Muchene said companies would continue paying high salaries to employees specialised in engineering, project finance, senior level sales and marketing and language experts.

"Professionals in these categories are few hence companies will pay more money for their expertise," he added.

Mr Muchene said the market was increasingly seeing a new generation of professionals demand higher pay for their work.

Waliweka akilini mwao kwamba wakija USA na ulaya yale maisha ya nyumbani kwao yataendelea, wazazi ama mzigo ukawa mkubwa kuwatumia watoto wao ada kwa pesa za kigeni au walistaafu au mianya ya fedha ilipungua au walifikiri ndivyo sivyo. Kwa aibu ya watoto wao kuungana na wasaka nyoka kutafuta maisha kwa njia za kawaida kwenye nchi husika wakishirikiana; wakajenga unyonge na mateso yakanza wakitamani kurudi nyumbani ila hawana uhakika tena na uwezo wa wazazi wao. wakajikuta system inawaacha kila siku na know how na aibu.

Kundi hili utaona wengi baada ya miaka mitano wameweza kuwajengea wazazi wao nyumba, kusoma na kumaliza shule na kuanza kufanya kazi zilizo kwenye dream zao. Kundi hili utaona wanajitegemea na wanaishi maisha ya uhakika . Kundi hili lina uhakikishia umma kwamba utawala wa sheria unaleta ushindani wakweli na survive of the fittest sio survive ya kubwebwa. Kundi hili ndilo kwa wingi wake limekuwa msaada wa kusomesha watoto wa dada zao na wadogo zao. Kundi hili ndilo lile linaloongeza pato la taifa kwa kuwatumia ndugu zao fedha. Ukiwa na nia ya kweli na ukijua nini kimekupeleka USA na ulaya utafanikiwa ila kama ulikwenda kuonyesha jamii uko ulaya au USA moto utauona tena sio wa kuni bali chuma.

Nawatakia maisha mema na leteni utaalamu na utendaji kazi usio tegezi kwenye nchi yenu Tanzania.

Mi nafikiri hao wanaojiona wana elimu waache kuwadharau hao wa kitaa wenye kujua michongo yote. Tanzania tuna wahindi kibao wenye elimu na wasiokuwa nazo. Wanasaidiana na kubebana sana. Wahindi hapa Tz wana shift za kulala. Kuna wanaolala mchana kuwapisha watakaolala usiku. Hii ni kutokana na wao kujiona kitu kimoja na wamekuja bongo kutafuta maisha. Sasa hao wenzetu wanaoishi huko ughaibuni wasidhani wako bongo. Wako ugenini. Nina imani kuna vyama vyao huko vya watanzania waishio aidha USA, UK, Canada, n.k. Wakubali kuwa jamii moja yenye lengo moja la kutafuta maisha na sio kama huko ndio wamefika. Wakishaweza kuvunja hicho kikwazo kilicho mbele yao basi pamoja na magumu wanayokumbana nayo huko watafanikiwa kwani kwa maelezo ya awali hao jamaa hawana ushirikiano. Hayo ndio mawazo yangu
