Napoli have confirmed the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as the club's new manager.
Ancelotti held talks with Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis in Rome last week before replacing Mauricio Sarri, whose departure was confirmed on Wednesday.
The 58-year-old Italian has been out of management since he was sacked by Bayern Munich in September 2017, while his last job in Italian football was with AC Milan, who he left in 2009 to become Chelsea manager.
Sky Sports News understands Ancelotti, who signed a three-year deal with the Serie A runners-up, turned down several other offers including the Italy national team job to take control at Napoli.
Sarri, meanwhile, is considering an offer from Russian club Zenit St Petersburg , according to Sky in Italy.
He was visited by club officials last week and during a meeting, they presented him with a deal to succeed Roberto Mancini, who left the club to become Italy boss earlier this month.
De Laurentiis took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to show his appreciation for Sarri's work at the Stadio San Paolo over the last three seasons.

Napoli have twice finished as runners-up to Juventus in the past three seasons under Sarri, who according to newspaper reports is also in the frame for the Chelsea manager's job should Antonio Conte leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Hazard asked by the journslists that how accurate is that he and willian will leave the club if conte remains at the club" no l dont think so ,lm happy to work under Conte but l dont know about willian...also l hate speculation l always told you that lm happy to be at chelsea and about my club l will decide after world cup now please let me focus on world cup.

Hazard asked if he is happy with the coach "Yes lm happy why not ...l dont have any problems with him like always to me Antonio is a great manager in England."pic.twitter.com./dlzehsgpm..

Hazard urges Chelsea coach Antonio Conte to stay at the club" l think l and some other players will be happy if our manager remains at the club ."He also added that " Antonio led us into Fa cup last season and this time around we won the cup so be in the Fa cup final in a row with the same manager means more to the club again he urges that people should know that We won the title last season we didnt won it alone as players but with the manager and l think if we played without Conte last season and with other manager l guess it would be imposible so lets give credit to that "sky pic .twiter.com/dlzEhsgpm..

*Next Chelsea manager: How*
*Sarri's style can shake up*
*Chelsea after 'serial winner'*
*Conte*

Maurizio Sarri seems to be the leading candidate to take over
from Antonio Conte this summer with the Chelsea boss set to
leave Stamford Bridge after two years at the club.
During his time so far the Blues manager has brought two major
trophies to the club, including the Premier League in his first
season, but it is still likely that the board are ready to replace
Conte this summer.

*Conte still has a season left on his current contract, which Conte*
has stated that he is willing to 'respect' but also stated that he
will accept any decision made by the club over his future.
But would Sarri really be an upgrade on his fellow Italian, or
would the Napoli manager bring the style of football that Roman
Abramovich is desperate to see at Stamford Bridge.
Here is what style Sarri would bring to Chelsea should he be the
man to come in over Conte.

*Conte Tactics*
Something that Chelsea fans have become slightly frustrated with
about Conte is the more negative style of approach that seems
to be the way this season has gone.
Away at Manchester City the Blues sat completely back and with
Eden Hazard playing as a false nine there was no exit at all and it
was only a matter of time until the champions broke them down.
There are times it works, absolutely, but for the fans watching,
and for owner Roman Abramovich looking on, it wasn't really the
fluid, attacking football that some would have hoped for.

*Sarri Attack*
Meanwhile, Sarri's approach with Napoli is quite different. Just
like at Chelsea at the moment, the full-backs like to get very high
and almost add as another winger, with the two wide men cutting
inside. When they lose the ball, just like Pep Guardiola at City, Sarri likes
his side to win the ball back as quickly as possible with high
pressing and the players, when they have the ball, are allowed to
be more free in their positioning and attack.

*Mentality*
Conte described himself after the FA Cup final as a 'serial winner'
and to be fair to him, he is absolutely right. The Italian won three
Serie A titles with Juventus and then the Premier League in his
first season, before clinching the world's oldest cup competition
on Saturday.
You have to say that is where Conte has the edge over Sarri, who
is yet to win any major trophy as a manager, but was named
Serie A Manager of the Season for the 2016/17 campaign.
Looking back at his managerial career, it is not a real surprise
that is the case with the teams that he has been in charge with
and dominance of Juventus over the past few seasons.
That is one area that the Chelsea fan base or the Chelsea board
might be concerned about, as Chelsea would be letting go a
manager who has a background of winning titles, for one that is
yet to do so.

Here is direct quote from Sport Express:

“On Thursday 59-year-old Maurizio Sarri is flying out to meet the Chelsea executives - Blues are considering him as a candidate for the role of head coach. A decision hasn’t been made yet."

“Roman Abramovich’s club has 2 main candidates - besides Sarri, it is Tottenham’s coach Mauricio Pochettino."

“If no agreement is reached between Sarri and Chelsea, Zenit will become favourites for his signature. The Italian is organising a visa and, possibly, could fly out directly to St Petersburg from London. This SCENARIO is possible, but Sarri views Chelsea as his preferred choice."

“When it comes to Sergey Semak, he delivered an assured interview when he met Zenit’s board, he will remain Ufa manager if Sarri signs for Zenit."

Napoli president: "I would like to thank Maurizio Sarri for his valuable contribution to the Napoli cause. He brought joy and prestige to Naples and Napoli fans all over the world with an entertaining brand of football that drew praise from all quarters. Well done, Maurizio."

Sarri is 100% coming to Chelsea.
The problem is, he's 60 years old and smokes more than Wizkalifa
Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a heart attack watching Bakayoko play

The problem with Conte's training session: - the players are not trained on possession-based football - they are not trained on how to tackle to recover possession - they don't train that much on how to shoot/score They are mostly trained on relinquishing possession n withdrawing to their own box,to choke it up n look for the counter! Then pass from sideways to defense to sideways n loose possession, then go back again to begin from square one.. No creativity,no innovation,no plan B, no outside-the-box thinking.... All these could've been practiced during training.... It's just managerial deficiency!
