Deal Close: Chelsea’s Deigo Costa enters one-week deadline over transfer move
It has been reported by the Spanish publication AS, Chelsea striker Diego Costa is on the verge of joining his former club Atletico Madrid, as Diego Simeone has set a deadline of August 6th for his club to complete a transfer swoop for the 27-year-old attacker.
The Brazil-born Spain international has won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid before signing for Chelsea in summer 2014 and now, has heavily been linked with a return to Vicentre Calderon.
The Spanish gaints are certainly interested in re-signing the 27-year-old centre-forward, who scored 16 goals in all competitions last term, with the Blues already rejecting a £50m transfer bid from last season’s Champions League finalists.
On his Instagram post, Diego Costa has fueled the speculations over his future at Stamford Bridge, as the striker sent farewell message to his team-mates.
However, AS claim Diego Simeone has now imposed a one-week deadline to get a transfer deal for the powerful striker over the line.
The Atletico boss wants his squad confirmed for August 6th, meaning the club will have to wrap up their search for a star-studded forward by next week.
The reports claim that Diego Simeone is also targeting Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro, who lifted a Europa League title with the Spanish outfit last season.
Bundesliga club launch €18m bid for Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen
According to the latest transfer reports from the German outlet Bild, the Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach have launched an offer of €18 million for Chelsea talented youngster Andreas Christensen as the German side are willing to sign the gifted defender on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old Christensen is halfway through a two-year loan deal with Borussia Monchengladbach, but he impressed to such an extent last term that Bundesliga club want to secure his services on a permanent basis as quickly as possible.
As per the same sources, Monchengladbach are eager to conclude a deal, although it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will choose to sell the 20-year-old.
Christensen, who is a fine reader of the game, averaged 8 defensive actions per game in the Bundesliga last campaign, while he registered an average pass accuracy of 87%.
The Denmark international previously stated that he would wait until the end of next season before making a decision about his long-term future, but the offer from Borussia Monchengladbach could well accelerate the process.

With the 2016/17 Premier League season is set to star in two weeks, clubs up and down the country are continuing to reinforce their respective squads ahead of the big kick-off in August 13th and 14th.

The reports from Sky Italia claimed yesterday that Chelsea have launched a £38m bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Italian outfit have yet to respond to the offer, with another EPL club Everton also believed to be interested in acquiring his services.
The 25-year-old Senegal international has averaged seven defensive actions-per-game and won 49% of his average duels in 33 Serie A matches last season, helping Napoli to a second-placed finish behind champions Juventus. His impressive performances clearly attracted the attention of Antonio Conte, so we could be in for an interesting month if the Blues continue their pursuit.
