Diego Maradona thinks Jose Mourinho is better than Pep Guardiola

The talismanic Diego Maradona said on a recent interview that he believes that Jose Mourinho is a better coach than Pep Guardiola.

Always the magnet for controversy, the highly scrutinized Argentine legend, Diego Maradona spoke to Sky Sports recently and dropped this bomb:

"For me, Mourinho is the greatest without a shadow of a doubt because he knows what you're going to say before you say it. It's extremely dangerous! That's what makes him Mourinho. That's what makes him the greatest. Pep or Mourinho? I say Mourinho. I think Pep needs a little more time, as Mourinho has had, to be Mourinho."

Of course he went on to clarify that Mourinho is his "friend" so it is possible he has a bit of bias on the subject.

As Bleacher Report points out, Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has eight domestic titles to his name and two Champions League trophies over four clubs. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is eight years younger than him and has accumulated five domestic titles and two Champions League trophies with his two clubs.

When pressed about a subject he might know more about, Maradona could not comment on who the best player in the world is right now, saying both Messi and Ronaldo are "at the same level."

Mourinho acted quickly last summer,Chelsea need a striker,a left back and the new central midfielder,Diego Costa,Fillipe Luiz and Cesc Fabregas duly arrived, was enough to transform a slightly clanky team into Champions, who chelsea need most for next seasons?

There is a element of history being made here,Mourinho is now the first manager in English league in history to return to a former champion club and win the league tittle again.

Community Shield and Premier League opener could cause early fixture congestion for Chelsea

n Tuesday, the FA has released their key dates for the 2015/16 season, and already, those dates could be causing some problems for the Blues. Having won the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League title, Chelsea will play the winner of the 2015 FA Cup (either Arsenal or Aston Villa) at Wembley stadium. The FA have set the date and time for that match, which will be played on Sunday, August 2, at 3 pm London time.

For Chelsea, that fixture creates some questions about their preseason, as it falls between a pair of matches that Chelsea have already announced. Jose Mourinho's side are scheduled to play FC Barcelona in Washington DC on Wednesday, July 29, while they'll be hosting Fiorentina at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, August 5. In all likelihood, that means that Chelsea fans paying to see the Blues face Barca won't see an extended outing from the club's established stars.

The Premier League has been scheduled to start on Saturday, August 8, though when Chelsea will play that weekend has not yet been announced. Depending on when that game gets scheduled, I'd expect to see quite a bit of youth and reserve involvement in the match against Fiorentina, much like I'm expecting for the Blues' match against Barca.

Fortunately for Chelsea, they've got a large volume of fringe players who will be around for most of the preseason, so Mourinho should have no problems ensuring that no players are overworked before the new season officially kicks off. Now lets just cross our fingers and hope that everyone stays healthy.
