Stamford Bridge offered chance
to sign Ivory Coast international.
Chelsea have been offered the
chance to sign CSKA Moscow
forward Seydou Doumbia
according to theThe 26 year old has a £25m
release clause and his Russian
Premier League employers are
open to offers for the Ivory Coast
international, who could perhaps
be seen by Blues boss Jose
Mourinho as an ideal
replacement for veteran Didier
Drogba.
The Stamford Bridge hero was
brought back to west London in
the summer but clearly the 36
year old is at the tail end of his
glittering career and Doumbia
would no doubt jump at the
chance of following his fellow
countryman to Chelsea.
His agent Jean Bernard Beytrison
appears to be looking for a buyer
for his client, stating:
'We are currently in negotiations
over a new contract. There is
plenty of interest in Seydou from
England plus clubs in Spain,
Germany and Italy.
'He is a goalscorer and there
aren't many of them around.
However, he is contracted to
CSKA and clubs will have to pay
their fee.'
Doumbia scored 57 goals in two
seasons in Switzerland with
Young Boys before moving to the
Russian capital in 2010 and has
gone on to rack up an impressive
83 goals in 125 appearances for
CSKA, including a recent brace
away at Man City.
