The thing is not the buildings but facilities. Another thing is that some of these hospitals have expansive spaces and can have single storey buildings scattered across the land. Like the case of Nakuru and Moi. Even beds are not an issue. That's just a marketing gimmick. You can't count the space of a hospital like that of malls and offices. Before I make conclusions on value for money, I would first need to see where the money is going and not merely the size of the building or bed capacity. You understand you can build just empty rooms and fit beds right? However, the cost of say a kidney dialysis machine will eclipse that of beds. Another thing that would determine size is the population and availability of clinics. Also, it would be wise to avoid taking news stories as gospel truth.
