Statistics is all about data collection then retrieve them. Retrieving data from different source eg, audio, video or other documents we call it data mining.
So go back to school. I can be ur lecturer.

I am not a programmer but i have statistics knowledge..i only use R ,SPSS and Sas programs when analysing statistical data and i bet u cant use any of those
