Maybe you should know what happened after this dawn surprise forward base attack . The KDF revenge was so brutal , Al Shabaab never recovered since .
They can always strike small using scattered cells but such a major attack has never happened again. They got neutered. And the group that committed this heinous crime was tracked using satellite and drones and the entire battalion was wiped out .
