If you divide the total value (KShs 2.3 trillion) by the number of transactions (896.2 billion), the average value per transaction would be roughly KShs 2.50 (less than 3 Kenyan cents).

The writer almost certainly swapped the words "million" and "billion", or mixed up the scale of the metrics.
