As investors have abandoned the project!This is why visionary leadership is vital to take any country to the next level. Though Kenya is slowly moving forward with the Lapsset project , imagine if the final goal has been accomplished by now ( it should since this a Kibaki era initiated project). The line from Lamu to port Doula Cameroon 🇨🇲… passing through Sough Sudan, Central Africa Republic and eventually Cameroon with connection lines to Ethiopia , Republic of Congo and DRC.
With this Middle East crisis , majority of East to west bound commercial ships and vise versa would be now docking in Lamu and the cargo transferred back to sea at Douala . Kenya and Cameroon would be making a killing right now….. hopefully this project is done in next 5 yrs .
